- PRODUCT FEATURE –

A fixed gas detection system permanently monitors the work environment for possible gas hazards, ensuring maximum safety.
Even the smallest gas leak will trigger an alarm to enable action to be taken. More than 500 different gases and vapours can be monitored with GfG fixed systems.

A fixed system consists of a transmitter and controller. These controllers can be connected as single-channel systems for just 1 transmitter, up to 16-channels for 1 controller – or with a rack mounted system as many transmitters as are required.

CI21 – Transmitter for Ammonia Detection

The charge carrier injection (CI 21) sensor is a progressive development to improve upon current ammonia refrigeration detection methods.

With CI 21 technology sensor life is no longer limited to ammonia exposure levels. This reduces replacement costs associated with electrochemical sensors.

Metal Oxide Sensing (MOS) transmitters can be sensitive to cross interferences with alcohol, cleaning detergents, water, carbon monoxide, and many other substances. This leads to interfering alarms which become a nuisance that can lead to work stoppage and expensive shut downs. Charge carrier injection technology eliminates these false alarms, saving time and money.

Fluctuating humidity levels are also not an issue for the transmitter, and while MOS sensors require a minimum humidity level in order to respond to ammonia leaks, the CI 21 does not. The CI 21 is able to be directly calibrated with ammonia test gas at low humidity.

Utilizing a controlled sensor voltage, the CI 21 maintains a constant internal temperature, allowing accurate readings without additional heating components.

These, along with other features, provide reliable, cost effective, long-term safety. The CI 21 transmitter is an advanced development to which all other ammonia transmitters will be compared.

FREE Webinar 4/20 @ 1pm EST - "Gas Detection Solutions for the Cannabis Industry"

Registration Link Below.

In this webinar we will examine gas detection issues and answers for the licensed cannabis industry from the standpoint of growers, extractors, inspectors and emergency responders. Cannabis “grow operations” involve use of carbon dioxide that can displace oxygen, while “extraction” operations use gases like propane and butane, as well as methanol, ethanol and other solvents. Odor control and measurement is often an additional concern. Regulations require use of fixed gas detection systems to guard against hazardous explosive, toxic and oxygen deficient conditions in greenhouses as well as extraction rooms. Inspectors who periodically enter facilities as part of the licensing process, and emergency responders entering a facility after an accident are potentially at risk from these same hazards. Understanding, choosing and using the correct portable instruments is vital to their safety as well.

- Transmitter IR29 - Innovative transmitter for combustible gases-

GfG Instrumentation’s innovative IR 29 Transmitter for combustible gases is the first intrinsically safe infrared (IR) transmitter for Zone 0.

There are two models; the IR 29i which is intrinsically safe for hydrocarbons (LEL) and the IR 29Di which also has the graphical display.

IR transmitters have become recognized as reliable gas warning systems for explosion protection. They are used to detect individual combustible gases or a wide range of gases. A special feature of the IR 29 technology is its ability to also measure combustible gases above the lower explosion limit. Moreover, the measurement does not require oxygen. With this technology there is basically no risk of contaminating the sensor.

The IR 29 is the first and only intrinsically safe IR gas transmitter with patented 4-beam 4-wavelength technology. The ignition protection class “intrinsically safe”, which is so essential for industrial plants and the mining industry, is achieved by the additional use of the SB1 safety barrier and its internationally patented and innovative design.

The IR 29 is the first IR gas transmitter that can also be used in Ex zone 0 and which enables maintenance as well as replacement of the sensor head without additional expense when energized.

A standard built-in data logger records all the measuring data, minimum / maximum values, average values and alarm events of the last 24 hours in a ring buffer. Measured values are shown on the high-contrast graphical display. Local displays and signals directly at the device can be used to provide an early warning of potential risks. The display at the upstream safety barrier SB1 D enables the detection of risks outside the danger zone being monitored. This allows immediate on-site action before really hazardous situations occur.

MAIN FEATURES INCLUDE :

▪ First intrinsically safe IR transmitter for explosion protection
▪ Temperature, moisture and pressure compensation
▪ Patented IR technology (NDIR)
▪ The energised IR sensor head can be replaced in Ex areas
