"In the communities that we live in,Who Raises The Black Boy?"
Greetings family,we've been closely following and assessing the behavioural petten of boys within our community, crime and drugs are the biggest challenges and horror that continues to haunt young boys, the saddest part is seeing them becoming heartless killers, terrorizing the community.
This is highly informed of course by the socio-economic conditions that we live under but also the negation of programmes that focuses on the development of boys, especially in instilling good morals and ethics in them, the society has been too focus on girls and women(which is not wrong)and this created a vacuum and negation on the side boy-men development.
We would like to announce that on the month of May we will be hosting: ISTHEBE SAMADODA (A Frank Conversation with Black boys)
The aim and objective of this programme is to create a safe space for men, young and old,to engage and share wisdom on things that concerns men and the society as a whole and find possible solutions on how they can positively change the communities they live in,especially on how to combat this new destructive gangster-culture that has shadowed and haunting our communities.
Topics to be discussed:
*How To Raise A Black Boy
*Challenges Of Growing As A Boy Without Your Father
*The Deliberate Systematic Exclusion Of Black Men In The South Afrikan Economy
*Afrikan Culture and Men
*Responsibilities and Duties
*The Psychology Of A Men
These are some of the topics to be discussed on the day and if as young boy or grown men you'd like to add in these topics please feel free to inbox us your suggestions.
A poster with full details is coming in the upcoming days.
Greetings family!!

Congratulations to Imbali Lodge Tehuis netball team.
We would like to thank everyone who made this programme become a success, from the coaches of soccer and netball teams, referees and netball umpires,Musa Dube (for sponsoring with sound system), the department of Sports, Arts and Culture (for sponsoring with soccer and netball jerseys, trophies and medals), the people who came out to support but most importantly we want to thank the soccer players and netball players because without them there's no Imbali Sports Festival.
We thank the team of Imbali Youth Desk for organising such a powerful and beautiful programme.
*Official Statement*
We will would like to also point out that everything we do is out of love for our community but also the realisation that as young people we cannot wait for people to do things for us,we have waited for far too long while our community,in particular young people continue to degenerate into inhuman behaviour and attitude, terrorizing the community, stealing, robbing, and even killing people of the community, so this made and convinced us that it is only us and us only as young people who can change these conditions.
We put our energies, ideas, time and even resources in making sure that all these programmes become a success and we're open to anyone who'd like to support the cause of trying to emancipate and develop our community.
We will also like to thank everyone from the community who continue to support the work that we're doing.
We will be releasing the results of Imbali Sports Festival and without any fear of contradictions,it was the best tournament we've ever witnessed.
*Official Statement*
Greetings family we would like to clarify a few contradictions regarding the Imbali Sports Festival.
When organised the festival last year we had confined it to a ward, where we only allowed teams of Ward 19 only to participate as we were trying to revive our ward but this year we chose to open the festival to other teams outside the Ward 19, teams around Pietermaritzburg.
As the Youth Desk we always have concept for our programmes because we believe conceptualising helps in giving the programme direction. So with this year's festival we chose to honour one man who played a critical role in youth development programmes,in particular grassroots football development.
We proposed this concept to one member of his family (we will not mention the name for protection),he loved the concept and gave us his full support but the mistake that we made was not doing a follow up and request to talk with the elders of the family (of which we did not know that they're still around), the Nxumalo elders and that led to a point where the family was not even aware that there will be such a programme.
The guy we spoke with did not consult the family and we also did not do a proper followup and for that we would like to issue a formal apology to the family of Coach Taya Mtewu, the Nxumalo family (his brothers, children and parents),we are young people and at times we do need guidance because we do mistakes not realising.
To the people who worked with Coach Taya who wanted to be part of the programme but could not because of the contradictions that we've mentioned,we also like formally apologize, our intention was not to exclude people.
Good news is that the family came to us on Saturday,in particular the older son of Coach Taya Mtewu and we were able to sharpen the contradictions,we gave him clarity and he understood our intentions that we come from a place of trying to respect and honour his father.
Greetings family, today we're finishing up our Imbali Sports Festival, today we're playing soccer semifinals and finals.
In netball we were able to finish yesterday and we crowned the winners but we're still going to officially announce them.
Come out in numbers to witness Ushukela that we have in grassroots football.
In the food section tomorrow we have Shaz who sells very delicious and affordable food, make sure that you check out her stall!
Family there's been a change in our fixture, Ithubalethu FC is no longer part of the festival and it has been replaced by Stars United FC
As we're faced by a heatwave in Pietermaritzburg, tomorrow's weather being 34°c please make sure that you drink lots of water and stay hydrated.
As staunch believers in supporting local and youth owned businesses,we decided to buy water from , this is a very progressive Black owned business.
We're now counting hours to the big day!!
This is the fixture and we salute all these teams, from coaches to players, we've seen how committed and passionate they are when it comes to football.
You don't want to miss this,so make sure that you come early.
The first game kick off at 09h00
Count down 2 days left!!
Tomorrow the fixture will be posted on this page and expect nothing but fire 🤞🏿
