The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of the neck, just below the Adam's apple. The thyroid gland makes two main hormones: thyroxine (T-4) and triiodothyronine (T-3). These hormones affect every cell in the body. They support the rate at which the body uses fats and carbohydrates. No, not everyone that is overweight has a thyroid issue. But 99% op people with an underactive thyroid is overweight and itโs extremely hard! So have grace with them and support them by getting them to a specialist (endocrinologist).
I lost weight very slowly. Had to put in 100 times the effort. I didnโt know I had Hashimotos. The fatigue was unbelievable.
