Waterproofing your house is essential. There are 5 important areas to waterproof:
1. Foundation - Concrete might seem rock solid, but it is porous, and water can go right through it. It is best to waterproof and dampproof your basement.
2. Roof - This is your first line of protection against water damage. Chimneys, skylights, and plumbing vents are particularly important.
3. Exterior walls - Similar to foundations, water can seep through cracks in walls and cause damage.
