Treading Gently

Some of my plants were outgrowing their pots and so I did some maintenance a few days back. That got me thinking about the personal environments that we each live in. Our individual environments have many aspects: physical, family, social, energetic, emotional, social media and entertainment…
In my veggie garden I try to follow the principle of farming the soil as well as taking care of the plants. Plants, just like us, are very resilient. They can and will grow in poor soil but do so much better in the right environment.
I think it’s an analogy we can use in our own growth. Growth is a personal and largely individual pursuit but we shouldn’t focus only internally. What about the environment within which we do our personal work?
As with everything in life we cannot control or change everything about all aspects of our setting, but there are always some changes that are possible, even if it’s just our attitude towards uncontrollable conditions. Are there some adjustments you’d like to make to your external environment? Are there perhaps some aspects that you’re not appreciating enough? I invite you to think about this, you might find some gems.

I’ll be facilitating a ceremony in Gauteng on the weekend of 18 November, probably the last for the year. The venue is a lovely spot in the bush. Basic, but private and in nature. If you feel the calling, please do contact me. The all-inclusive cost is R1600.

It was such a lovely ceremony last weekend! I have so much respect for the way the guests immersed themselves in the process and did the work! You’re superstars!
I’m also very pleased with the venue. It’s outside, private and simple. Just right for the weekend! I’ll be hosting another ceremony there again soon, so do let me know if you’re interested.

Preparation for a ceremony starts (at least) a week before the time. The most important preparation is to develop an intention. Why is it that you want to do a ceremony? What is it that you want to understand, heal, feel or change? Ceremony intentions are usually deeply personal and so there is no requirement at all to share with the group.

I’ve found a lovely venue for the next ceremony in Gauteng. Simple accommodation with an option to camp, but this helps keep the cost down to R1300 for the weekend.

I’m just back from a fascinating getaway to learn about and experience the practices and wisdom of the Q’ero people of the Andes. At the core are the concepts of harmony and reciprocity related to our own selves, other beings and indeed with the whole of Pachamama.

Hello dear Friends

I’ve been quiet for the last months, doing ceremonies on request for small groups. If this is something you’d like to arrange, then please do contact me and let’s put something together.

But for those of you for whom this doesn’t work I’m looking at doing an open ceremony sometime in May, in either Gauteng or Mpumalanga, so watch this space. I could also organise a ceremony at a beautiful venue in Swaziland or the Drakensberg if there’s enough interest.

It would be great of you to contact me by DM, introduce yourself and let me know what you’re looking for. I’d especially appreciate this from the newer members on this page or if I haven’t yet met you.

A friend sent me this pic 🙏 This is the time of year that the Huachuma flowers. The delicate flowers last about 3 days, opening at night so that they can be fertilized by moths.
