Good day All RLM Councillors
Water Unit is currently experiencing declining spare capacity in all our reservoirs including command reservoirs supplied and maintain by Rand Water and Magalies Water.
This is caused by excessive demand exacerbated by the heat wave, we are currently running below 30 to 20% in all our reservoirs.
Bulk storages maintain and supplied by Magalies Water are all below 30% and Bulk storages maintain and supplied by Rand Water are all below 40%.
Going below the current levels will increase the restrictions periods for all residents. We therefore urge residents to use water sparingly and allow the municipality to raise levels to avoid depleting the system.
We will keep all Councillors informed about the command reservoir levels.
Magalies Water:
Bospoort Reservoirs: 12%
Kortebegrip: 37%
Rand Water:
Barnardslvie: 43%
Rustenburg South Reservoir: 44%
