There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 During the life of Cabernet Sauvignon block A1, it has formed the foundation of many great Cabernets and Richelle Estate blends. Planted on a site with heavy clay in the subsoil, the wines have always been firm in structure and concentrated. As with all organic things, time has taken its toll on our old friend. It will be replanted in 2025, so for now we take a moment to enjoy its beauty and all it’s helped us achieve. 🍇🍷 We thankfully anticipated this decline and made sure new Cabernet blocks were established 7 years ago to take over the role of our foundation vineyard for the time being. Yet another example of the many layers in our rich tapestry of wine-making. Cheers to Block A1 🍷
