Mayhem Mountain Festival is happening on the 28th of March to the 1st of April 2024

Truely a magical space in Mpumalanga to test your mettle on highlines and rock climbs, or simply sit back, relax, and support the antics!

Tim Slab is an industrious slackliner with a cool style. If you've been to the Mayhem Mountain Festival, you'll have seen (and likely admired) Tim's relaxed yet active posture on a highline.

Spontaneous moments of play is one of the reasons slacklining is such a good way to connect with your body and other people.

Lukas Irmler is a professional slackliner from Freising in Germany and has been slacklining for more than 16 years. Thanks to his sharing spirit, Lukas opened the invitation to Cary, Leighton, and myself to lend him and Antonia a hand on a dream project.

During the memorable week of highlining in Zimbabwe, we sat down with Lukas to ask him some questions. We are proud to share the full interview on our blog.

‘Highline Meeting’ at De Pakhuys for the weekend over Heritage Day. Bring slacklines, flow toys, and instruments. We encourage you to share your passions and your story. Host a workshop or simply shine doing what you love.

There will be slacklining, highlining, freestyle highline, and a highline workshop for beginners to learn the beta. We plan to rig a spacenet too so bring your harness! Bouldering, Sports climbing, a fresh water dam to swim in, all before sharing evenings around the fire.

The longest highline in South Africa has been spanned in Mossel Bay.

The highline, 460 metres long, stretches over the ocean near the St Blaize hiking trail, close to Cecil Shepard Street, with a breathtaking view of land and sea. The little cove below the line is known as Soutgat.

First session done by myself . I turned around at 250m because the line was too difficult.

did a crossing starting from the other anchor, and fell after 2400m, in the same difficult section.
