Videos by Kalki Ceramics. Bespoke Tile Specialist | All our ceramic tiles are hand glazed in Durban, South Africa. Our solid colour range consists of 52 colours.
We recently showed an early version of our new drinks cabinet to the world, at @100percentdesignafrica , at @decorexafrica in Johannesburg.
Since so many people were besotted by the terracotta doors and unique mark-making, we thought we’d share some of the processes and techniques behind the creation of the handmade tiles.
We had fun making this piece, and we’re excited to develop it further.
Keep an eye out for this one. It’s going to be special.

How gorgeous is this incredible bathroom in the midday light? Located at the @studio.kalki and Kalki Ceramics HQ, the aim with this design was to create an entrancing experience, entirely different from the rest of the house. Soft but abundant natural light combined with generous indoor plants and natural materials creates the feeling of encountering an oasis while exploring deep, dark caves. Tiles are Kalki Ceramics Emerald Green and Light Grey. Vanity and bench are by @nikhiltricam_studio for @studio.kalki Handmade ceramic basin and vessels are by @nindya.ceramics Design by Nikhil and Nindya for Studio Kalki. #archidaily #architecture #modernist #tropical #interiordesign #ceramictiles #interiordecor
This remains one of our favourite projects to day. The iconic Zululami Clubhouse by @lisa_rorich_architects_ boasts a gorgeous Emerald Green lap pool, with our timeless Kalki Ceramics tiles. The surface is magnificent, and truly a sight to behold. We can’t wait to revisit it, now that the incredible landscaping has finally taken hold. I’m so happy with the results of these glaze and brushwork tests. These are for a new sculpture by @nikhiltricam_studio for @latitudes.online 2024, incorporating his distinctive and iconic mark-making onto a glazed ceramic body. These experiments are also going to carry through to so many of our Kalki Ceramics tiles and bespoke @studio.kalki pieces, unlocking a new level of integration between Art and Design. We’re also working on a custom Crocodile bench for the Studio Kalki booth at Latitudes, incorporating some really special glazing and Hakeme brushwork on a terracotta body. This is just the beginning. I can’t wait to share what we create from here. #architecture #interiordesign #ceramictiles #interiordecor #interiors

How incredibly hypnotic is this iridescent blue? It reminds me of something bioluminescent. We’ve created this colour through a layering of different glazes, resulting in something of unparalleled depth. Now, we just need to think of a name for it. What do you think? #interiordesign #architecture #interiordecor #ceramictiles #terracotta
