- Learn to listen to a child, there’s always two sides to a story.
- A child also has rights even against their own biological mother. Dig for the truth, the signs are always there.
- Even bystanders are also perpetrators. Instead of forcing forgiveness on a child, take her for therapy & counselling for healing. Not leaving out the perpetrator. These women do need help, because you cannot give life & live to destroy it. In return we will be able to build strong & solid women thus strong foundations for families, as we say “when you build a woman, you are building a nation”.

Honestly the events started I think from the age of 5. I remember she burnt my butt fighting with her then ex, leaving me in a bathtub next to a burning hot plate that I slid onto. I only have 2/3 pictures of my childhood in my possession & the sadness in my eyes is heartbreaking 💔. Emotional & physical disconnect & negligence that I experienced or should I say still experiencing is disturbing.

A master of manipulation of any situation, everything is about her & her needs. You know what gets to me the most, is using the life giver card I quote - “I am your mother”, “if you do not forgive me you will never be blessed”. “Your blessings are here in my hands. I hold your blessings”. What I’ve listed is nothing, it’s been heartache after heartache after heartache non stop as a result I have never called her “Mother” or “Mom” I have always referred to her as “Sisi”. You earn those titles (Mother and Mom) they just couldn’t come out of my mouth.

I spent 29 years of my life with her “I’m sorry’s”. Our relationship has always been about her saying “I’m sorry” & I having to say “I forgive you” that’s how we lived.

She intentionally put me in harms ways over & over & over again. Teaching myself how to love was an obsession to me & I thank God that I got it right. Breaking the generational cycle of abuse.

This is a topic that is extremely important to me because I believe that broken mothers build broken homes. I will take you through my journey, sharing my experiences & my how my strength made me the woman & the mother that I am today.

I believe that God & my ancestors are sending daughters like me to me for healing. It wouldn’t be right for me to keep my experience that is still ongoing to myself.
