“The time has come”
Prophetic painting I painted during the Cape Town conference. Inspired by Matthew 9:37 where Jesus says that the harvest is ready but the harvesters are few. I believe that it is time for those who have been called to rise up to bring into the Kingdom all who are ready for salvation. There is a cutting and a gathering taking place. Cutting the wheat represents us being cut off from the world to be gathered in to fellowship and God’s love. As we submit our lives to the Lord, we are transformed into something completely new - and so we become the bread that will feed the starving nations. Lets go 🔥🌾

To finally stand back and know that a piece is finished; a sigh and a smile; is a reward and excitement for the next one. This one has been removed from its wooden frame, rolled up and is ready to ship to the UK 🌍🎨💕

The hardest painting I’ve done.
How can I put the weight of what I feel into one picture? How can I capture the smile I would do anything to see shining down on me. The first man I ever loved with my whole heart, the man that has called me “My Baby” for the last 37 years of my life. This incredibly strong and adventurous hero of mine will always be my Papa and despite what cancer has done, I choose to remember him as he is in this simple painting. But its just paint and brushstrokes and probably not my best work… but that’s not what its about. At the end of life and its beauty & triumph, lies the emotions that remain in the hearts once known. I “feel” him as he was, passionate about the ocean, happiest on his boat in Skuitbaai, belly laughing with his dearest family and friends, captivating those around his table with the stories and knowledge that many have wanted to write books about. His life has been nothing short of a blockbuster action movie and it continues in his children. This painting was a gift for my Papa’s 61st birthday. Last year we received the devastating news that there was nothing the Dr’s could do about the horrific cancer that had taken over his body except making his last 3 months as happy and comfortable as possible. We had the most incredible Christmas together, and since then every moment together has been a treasured occasion. Yet, my Papa had always been the strongest and the bravest and he is still fighting, still reminding us that family is everything and that he is proud of us. My heart hurts to see what this sickness has done to him but this painting which is now on his wall, reminds us all WHO he was and still is, inside. Big, strong, handsome and fearless. And this is how I want to remember him 💛 I thank God for His grace and mercy in every day we have with our loved ones - people are all that matter at the end of it all.

We so easily get caught up in the mundane and dreary parts of life, making it all feel like a chasing after the wind. My heart needs creativity like my body needs food. I believe that living creatively is fundamental to finding purpose, whether it be through cooking a flavourful meal with fresh ingredients, writing a poem, choosing your outfit for the day or creating a painting. I am prone to feelings of depression when I look at the world around me. But its when I tap into God’s life-giving spirit within me, joy wells up and it pours out through my hands and I experience peace. Journey with me to tap deeper into the well of life, because we all need a little encouragement and inspiration to get going.
