: According to reports from the police, a devastating road accident on the Masvingo-Mbalabala Road claimed the lives of nine people, including five students from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo. The incident occurred at the 198 km peg when a Toyota Wish vehicle collided head-on with a Nissan UD truck.
The victims' bodies were transported to Filabusi District Hospital for identification and a postmortem examination, as confirmed by the police department. The chaplaincy office at NUST released a statement following the tragedy, which included the names of the five deceased students: Rachel Mandiki, Mary Magdalene Nkala, SambuleloSenkosi Nkala, Rutendo Nyangani, and Masimba Mushayikwa. May their souls rest in Peace .
