Late nights. Early mornings. Excessive utterance of praise and pardon. The Divine Book. To experience satiety through minimalism. Financial support to the needy.
Ramadaan is a beautfiul madrassa of life. ❤

These last ten nights are the essence of Ramaḍān and therein is the essence of essences and the essence of the essence, the Great Night of Destiny. Whoever experiences it has experienced all good and the one who is barred from it is barred from all good - Habib Kazim al-Saqqaf

It's not difficult to change, the difficulties come within us. Begin with a step. Be the change. As we Muslims enter the New Year, I sincerely hope and pray for a year that is filled with peace, harmony and good will among all people and for an end to violence and war and to the fear that provokes them. Let us continue both to pray and to work for a world of understanding, openness, compassion and love. May Allah SWT bless all our hours and days, fill them with good and with rembrance of Him so we shall waste not time nor forget its value. Aamiin Allahumma Aamiin. Hijrah 1443H ❤
- Ukhti Izah
We bid farewell to another year of the Hijrah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , a year which contains a number of days and nights. These days and nights are what make up your lifespan. If a day passes then a part of you has passed. You are but a body and spirit existent in a limited time period. When that period comes to an end you come to an end. Only those of sound intellect realise the true value of these days and nights that pass. They know that it is He Who made the Night and the Day to follow each other: for the one who wishes to reflect or show gratitude. Whatever anyone has achieved in these days and nights that has not increased them in reflection and gratitude has missed the purpose and fundamental wisdom for which these days and nights were created and for which mankind was created.

What can we do at this time if we are unable to go on Hajj?
We should focus on the objectives of Hajj and seek to realise them. For example, we should seek to attain humility before Allah and servitude to Him.
• On Hajj we leave behind some of the things which we are accustomed to. Those who are not performing Hajj should try to do the same by, for example, performing different types of worship.
• We should try to strengthen love and brotherhood between ourselves.
• We should try to assist the poor and perform the sacrifice (udhiyah/qurbani).
• We should take advantage of the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah by fasting as many days as we can and by standing in prayer during its nights. We should encourage our family members to do the same.
• We should try to assist and support those going on Hajj and their families who are left behind. The Prophet ﷺ said that the one who assists someone going out for the sake of Allah has the same reward as that person.
• We should pray for those performing Hajj and thereby receive a portion of the reward which they are receiving.
• We should try to gather together when everyone is gathered together at Arafat to pray to Allah and seek to receive the mercy which is descending there. We should gather together on that day even if it is not the Day of Arafat (9th Dhu’l-Hijjah) where we are.

Despite facing daily oppression, injustice and genocide by the apartheid forces, Muna along with other Palestinians managed to graduate.
May we live to see a ❤
Excerpt of her speech:
“I am sure you know about the neighbourhood, not only because it is being talked about in the media and news, but also because it reminds us of the Nakba [catastrophe] that has not ended since 1948 and continues to happen in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Jarrah, Silwan and Lifta, and in all of Jerusalem, in Beita [village], the Jordan Valley, across the [occupied] West Bank, the occupied interior [Israel], Gaza and in diaspora including the forced displacement, house demolitions, ethnic cleansing, arrest and exile, and the list goes on”.
.kurd15 each & everytime a journalist or a citizen is arrested, she would sit-in untill they are free, regardless if it was sunrise or sunset. She is our voice, today we are her voice. ❤🤲
Please keep the El Kurd and Palestine in your special prayers!
