"Oyster of Quartz" Uniquely placed prehnite surprise in a Quartz geode almost resembling an oyster clutching its pearl. (102 x 96 x 23mm) 213 grams.

Prehnite is an inosilicate of calcium and aluminium . Prehnite crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system, and most often forms as stalactitic or botryoidal aggregates, with only just the crests of small crystals showing any faces, which are almost always curved or composite, in this specimen almost gemmy.

This beautiful gem receives its coloring from trace amounts of ferrous iron. Its hues range can range from blueish green, blue-green, greenish blue, to deep blue, and its tones can vary from very light to moderately dark.

"Blueberry snack " uniquely stunning specimen of Chrysocolla (55 x 30 x 10mm) 14 grams.

Chrysocolla has a cyan (blue-green) color and is a minor ore of copper, having a hardness of 2.5 to 7.0. It is of secondary origin and forms in the oxidation zones of copper ore bodies. Associated minerals are quartz, limonite, azurite, malachite, cuprite, and other secondary copper minerals. It is typically found as botryoidal or rounded masses and crusts, or vein fillings. Because of its light color, it is sometimes confused with turquoise.

"Spotted green leaf " unique specimen of Polished Malachite (56 x 35 x 13mm) 69 grams.

Malachite often results from the weathering of copper ores, and is often found with azurite (Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2), goethite, and calcite. Except for its vibrant green color, the properties of malachite are similar to those of azurite and aggregates of the two minerals occur frequently. Malachite is more common than azurite and is typically associated with copper deposits around limestones, the source of the carbonate.

"Stone behind the mask " stunning specimen of Labradorite (95 x 50 x 22mm) 278 grams.

Labradorite occurs in mafic igneous rocks and is the feldspar variety most common in basalt and gabbro. The uncommon anorthosite bodies are composed almost entirely of labradorite.[4] It also is found in metamorphic amphibolites and as a detrital component of some sediments. Common mineral associates in igneous rocks include olivine, pyroxenes, amphiboles and magnetite.

Libethenite is found in oxidised zone of copper ore deposits. It is most often formed from weathering of phosphate rocks such as apatite, monazite, and xenotime.

Azurite is a soft, deep blue
copper mineral formed by
oxidised copper. Azurite is
named after the colour
'Azure and this deep blue
crystal is often found
alongside Malachite. It was
used to create a deep blue
pigment for painting by many
civilisations, including the
ancient Egyptians and the
Europeans during the Middle
Ages to the Renaissance.
Azurite was prized by the Mayans for developing their psychic abilities, and the Egyptians used it to aid spiritual communication.

been prized by other
civilisations for its beauty as
an ornamental gemstones -
the Russians even used
Malachite to create the
columns of a cathedral in St
Petersburg! Traders and
merchants in ancient times
wore malachite during
business deals and to attract
prosperity. In Italy, triangular
pieces of Malachite were
worn to ward off the Evil Eye.

are characterised by the
small points growing
outwards from the main
Quartz points. They are found
in South Africa, in white or
purple 'Amethyst ' varieties,
and sometimes even yellow
colours that comes from iron
staining.

Ajoite is a rare copper crystal
that is named after Ajo in
Arizona where it was first
found in 1941. It is a blue
green coloured crystal, and
when found as an inclusion in
Quartz, is highly desirable.

Stichtite on its own is a
pink/purple crystal that is
often found alongside green
Serpentine, and given the
name Atlantisite. After its
discovery in 1910, it was
named after the manager of
the mine where it was found.

Brandberg Amethyst can only
be found in location in the
world - the Goboboseb
mountains in Namibia. They
usually have a very deep
purple colouring, and are
often found in skeletal or
scepter forms, and
sometimes with fluid
inclusions (often commonly
referred to as enhydros).

Democratic Republic of the
Congo. Malachite was well
loved by the Egyptians - they
used it extensively in
jewellery and carvings. It is
even mentioned in their
hieroglyphs as being
essential to their gods.

Libethenite is found in the oxidized zone of copper ore deposits. It is most often formed from the weathering of phosphate rocks such as apatite, monazite, and xenotime.There have been no confirmed findings of primary libethenite, although a probable case has been reported.

silicate crystal often found

Azurite. It is a very popular
gemstone in the USA, and
bears a strong resemblance
to turquoise, with its shades
of bright blue:green.
