Roses nearly ready for Spring

09/05/2022

Hi all. I have been incredibly quiet this year as I've spent the past few months with family matters that I realized needed a lot more time and care. So I spent more time with my children in their homeschooling as it had taken a lot of a back seat over the last two years. But in this decision it has also been incredibly financially draining as I've stepped back with my sales. I have not been totally stepping back from the gardening however, but have used the time to establish the home base nursery to hopefully soon become self sufficient. However, finances are calling me to step up again a bit in my sales so I am offering some specials over the coming week.

First off. I have some beautiful 18 month young Big Blue Agapanthus that are ready to be bagged. However, before bagging I am offering an unbagged special. Each young plant, unbagged, I am selling for only R2 each. This is only for orders of 50 or more plants for delivery. Smaller quantities can be ordered but would need to be collected either in Port Edward, Ramsgate or Izotsha. Agapanthus will survive a few weeks, and even months out of the ground, but I will only pull out on day of delivery and I would recommend planting within 2 weeks of delivery. These are only 18 month old seedlings, and agapanthus will only flower their first bloom at 3-4 years old.

Happy New Year everyone! I know it's late (already March) and I apologize for being so quiet on this page. My plants have been available at Beaver Creek Coffee Estate and we are trying to set up a smoother system there. Unfortunately I've had to step back a bit for personal reasons, but I still have and supply a gorgeous variety of plants, so please don't hesitate to contact me for whatever you might be interested in. To all waiting on my landscaping advice, March is here and I'm back in the game to start planting. Thank goodness February heat has come and gone

18/12/2021

Now available at Beaver Creek Coffee Estate. Come have a coffee and lunch and get some plants on your way out. I unfortunately wont be there but any queries please dont hesitate to contact me. If needed I could meet there too. 0728029484

Definitely one of my more popular bags. Angelonia angelwings. Hardy and very rewarding in the garden. In four gorgeous colors. Purple, white, bicolor and raspberry. R30 a bag

04/03/2020

Most people don’t much like vinca due to being so common and babies keep coming up 😁. I personally love them. They’re hardy, a splash of color seemingly constantly and just look at these stunning colors. Different to the standard white and purple you see everywhere. If you want to add some constant hardy color to your garden I recommend these. R30 a bag

MARKET DAY

The trafalgar community market on Saturday 29th February HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

24/02/2020

Hi all. This post is something different but close to my heart. There is a kitten care place in Durban who takes in foster, abandoned, orphaned and feral kittens to care for and then home. I’m cat mad and so would like to do something to help them. So I’d like to extend the invitation. For all orders, if anyone is willing to donate R10 on top of your order with me to go to Rescue Kittens and their Stories, then for each R10 donated you can choose any plant from my following range:

Walking iris
Crassula multicarva
Bulbinella
Bromeliad green
Gazania
Hens and chickens
Dianella
Cuphea
Tulbachia Wild garlic
Plectranthus neochilus
Thyme
Parsley
Geranium
Oesteospermum

I’ll transfer money across to Kitten Rescue every time I reach R150 and post proof of payment here to share with you every donation made. Would greatly appreciate the support for this lovely lady who does so much for these kittens.

Note: all donations made above the standard R150 minimum order so I can afford to still keep going myself 😊 or please donate directly to them. Thanks from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Curry leaf trees. I love delivering these as they make my car smell delicious 😋. R18 a bag

Who loves asparagus? Who wants to try grow their own? Fascinating growing these stunning edible stalks. My plants are just short of 2 years old. It is best to only start picking them to eat after 4 years otherwise you can stunt the plant. But thereafter enjoy year after year crop. R15 a bag. With instructions how to grow them

IMPORTANT NOTE

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate every customer, large and small. However, as much as this is so difficult to do, but due to making a loss last year, and cutting my time too much with my other responsibilities I’ve had to restructure my deliveries. I would love to deliver whatever anyone wants but I unfortunately just cannot. So I truly hope you understand that I can only do deliveries for orders over R150. Even that only just covers costs. Below that I make loss. I keep my prices as low as I possibly can to try supply as many people as possible with excellent plants at a fraction of the cost. I would love to still accommodate the smaller orders as much as I can so all orders below R150 can collect from me in Izotsha every Wednesday afternoon, or ramsgate on Thursday afternoons or at markets I do every few weeks. I’m truly sorry for letting people down but every 3km costs me R20 so to deliver a R10 or R15 plant, I just can no longer afford.l. My profit margin on my plants is as low as I can go to enable me to offer free delivery for orders over R150. If I were to offer free delivery for all orders, then my prices would increase significantly, which I don’t want to do. So I really do apologize to all those I let down. It really does pain me to turn even the smallest order away.

Hi all and HAPPY NEW YEAR. I am back up and running and will begin deliveries again next week. Firstly a very big THANK YOU to all my customers for your support and love the last year. I greatly appreciate each and every one of you. By you supporting my small business you make me do a little jig with every sale I make.

Please note an important announcement for this year ahead. I homeschool my three kids, while running this business alone, along with another side business Heart Child Decor and Toys while still working online for two different companies in the evening so my life is quite busy and stretched. This year I have to focus more on my kids as my oldest officially starts Grade 1 and so I will have to be a bit more structured than last year, which means my days for delivery will unfortunately be reduced and orders will be more stream lined. I'm hoping this will be better for you as well as for me :) Unfortunately in order to do this, I have to ask for all orders to either be sent through my page Stoney Creek Gardens, and messaging through the page only and not to my private profile or through marketplace. Alternatively you can whatsapp your orders to 0728029484. You are welcome to call but please can I ask you to not leave a voice message if I don't answer as I don't always received notifications of messages, and I would hate to let you down by not responding timeously. Please rather send a whatsapp, which I will be sure to get and will respond ASAP. All other orders may unfortunately fall by the way side. I had so many orders coming from so many different places last year that I missed a few, and for that I am truly sorry.

Then going forward, I will no longer be doing landscaping. This is unfortunately too time consuming and with so many things already on my 'to-do list' I just have to prioritize. I am happy to still give advice on what plants to plant where. I am also happy to come by and advise and for this I will charge R100 for a call out. I will have limited time each week so will only do 3-4 call outs a week, on a Wednesday morning or the occasional Sunday midday only. Should you order plants from me after this call out, the R100 will be deducted off your order. Call outs will be half an hour each. I will still offer free delivery but due to plant prices increasing, free deliveries will now be on all orders over R200. Should you wish to order less than this you would then be able to collect in Izotsha on Wednesdays between 1pm and 4pm, or arrange via appointment to collect from my home base in Port Edward. I keep a limited supply of sourced plants at home, but constantly have my own stock on hand, so orders will be necessary to ensure you get what you want.

I will collect orders from my suppliers every Wednesday morning and then do deliveries between Port Shepstone to Southport on Wednesday mornings and all other deliveries between Port Edward and Oslo Beach will be on Thursdays. So to ensure an order to be delivered on the Wednesday or Thursday, please place all orders by Tuesday evening. Orders placed after that will be delivered the following week.

There will unfortunately also be a slight increase in prices, but this will only come into effect in March once the January and February financial stress has passed for everyone. I will however continue to aim at keeping my prices as low as possible.

By making these small changes I hope to offer you all a better and more consistent service and not lose any more orders in my chaos.

Thank you to all again for your support and I look forward to making many more gardens beautiful this year.
