π― Thank you Woman of Stature Awards South Africa πΏπ¦ for this amazing nomination as it serves to put a spotlight on the work we all need to do in our communities.
I have come across a big need for legal advice and guidance by the elderly of the communities as a result of being evicted from their homes π‘ once one of the spouses passes away...
I look forward to telling the story of how this journey has carried on. Wishing all the nominees luck π β¨οΈ

There are a series of conversations I'd love to have that relate to Living and Deceased Estates. Conversations that will serve to showcase the realities of what happens when an individual dies, what happens when they die after having planned for their estate and those that die with no plan in place.
Series 1 - "Those that stayed behind"
I want to address issues such as Section 37C of the Pension Fund Act and how beneficiaries can be completely disinherited whether they are nominated beneficiaries or not. How the estate administration process can take up to 10 years.
Series 2 - "Legacy Planning"
I want to have conversations with people who actually do Estate Planning. People who understand the importance of a Last Will and Testament.
Series 3 - "Bring in the Professionals"
This is sooo self explanatory. I believe it's time to normalize having these insanely integral conversations. Nje. Period.

π What an exciting space..
little confession... I have never made the time to go to Cape Town. End of last year I told someone this and their shock drove me to committing to going to Cape Town for the first time in 2024... I hadn't even made the plans when I received this invite. God hears our plans and if they align with the Plans He has.. it will manifest.
I am excited. I am committed to growing my voice so that I may voice things out that people would ordinarily choose not to discuss because they're so uncomfortable. I am Zola and I am a Public Speaking Attorney that heads a Compliance department and runs a legal clinic amongst other things π
I am a Lawyer ofcos I will speak in public forums.
I believe in the power of a determined woman's voice. I am equally determined to discuss Estate Planning till it is fashionable to do so as opposed to the taboo that it currently is. Too much suffering is caused by a lack of in our families and communities. I am here to say let's talk about this to mitigate the suffering.
