June 2024 is a long way away *** but training is key if you would like to participate for charity and as a personal goal to walk our magnificent coastline in remote areas... it is something to work towards and high levels of fitness are required for next years route - 20km to 25km days on beach sand ** my favorite stretches of our beaches !!!!! Anybody who is super fit and who would like to, in theory at this stage, be a part of our volunteer group, mid field guiding and sweeping, please DM me. We will start in Mtunzini. Route details and length/distance of full trail to be confirmed at a later stage. Thank you. Nikki

The Philocaly Beach Trail
The Philocaly Trail ('Philocaly' meaning The Love of Beauty) is a KZN Beach walk where participants donate money to marine conservation charities for each day that they walk.
Nikki Williamson, who came up with this initiative, is a passionate lover of nature and particularly of the sea and our natural heritage. With this in mind, she decided she wanted to explore her passion and raise funds and awareness at the same time, and thus The Philocaly Trail was born.
In 2019, the 285 participants and sponsors raised a total of R60 000 that was donated to Wildoceans Conservations, Breathe Conservation and KZN Beach Clean Up.
If you love the ocean, our coastline and the natural beauty of our marine life, this may be just up your alley!
