Yesterday we got to set up some messy play for a bike themed 5th birthday party!

This one was extra special because it was for a precious little boy who has such a special place in my heart! ❤️🥰

So we went with a beachy theme and I have to say, it was probably one of my favourite set ups! Really, really enjoyed this one! 😍

Yesterday while trying to cook my toddler kept closing the front door and blocking the only semi-cool air that was coming into the house (yesterday was boiling hot).

In my fifth attempt to keep the door open, I realised I had forgotten to take down the sticky gel Christmas decor on the glass of the door. And BOOM I created a sensory activity that kept him busy for over 20 minutes and he forgot about the door! 🤣🤣🤣

It was all about Dinos this past Sunday! It's fun to be FOUR! These kiddos had a blast digging through sand to reveal Dino fossils and chiseling away at frozen eggs to get the baby Dinos out!

Happy Monday to all my wonderful customers and all you lovely people who follow my pages!

I thought I would take some time to officially introduce myself.

My name is Tamsyn. I'm a full-time working scientist, a wife and a mom to a beautiful little boy! 💙

I really enjoyed making sensory bins for my little one and soon realised it was a passion of mine to use my creative flair to create educational sensory bins for kids. I started out just making ready made kits to play with at home but when I got approached to set up a couple of parties, I realised how much I loved that too! To watch the little kids play and learn and imagine using something I had created just gave me the greatest joy! 💕 Education should be fun, because that's when we learn best!

Little Senses is still a brand new small business but I want to thank each and every person for every order, party booked, social media share and all the love you've given my posts so far!

I am so excited to see where this journey will take us and I am so glad you are all here for the ride! 🥰

Sensory bins are so great for playdates! 🥰💙💗

A different kind of sensory party... Minecraft scavenger hunt! The rain limited what we could do but the kids still had a blast completing various challenges to unlock Lego pieces that they used to build a house for their zombie made out of play dough. The kids had to work together and had to dig through some really gross feeling stuff to find their Lego pieces! Really enjoyed this one and watching the creativity unfold was my absolute highlight! 🥰🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️

Today we made a snake swamp sensory bin! Some pasta screws, cous cous, green food colouring and some green jelly 🐊💚 it was an absolute hit with my little one. Needless to say, I now have a green Martian for a son 🤫🤣

Today we hosted a very special event! One we hope can be a trademark for our business!

A Sip and Play event! Messy play set up for the babies to play and bottomless wine and snacks for the moms ❤️

Sometimes you just need that mom time!

I've been down with the flu this last week and haven't had any energy to do anything. I haven't felt this flat in a long time.

It's tough when you're a mom because no matter how sick you feel, you have a little person tugging on your PJ pants or nagging at your feet. Moaning and crying because they need something. It's exhausting. We never get to rest and recover. You're always needed.

But this morning I was feeling terrible and my little baby boy wrapped his arms around my neck and gave me the tightest hug and in that moment I was reminded just how much I also need this little boy and that magical hug. Just as much as he needs me, if not more.

His magic hugs got me out of bed and even gave me the energy I needed to put together a sensory bin all about the colour RED!!!

Sometimes life gets hectic, and busy and overwhelming. And a lot. And we just need to slow down. And that's ok.

In fact, it's imperative!

As mom's we need to take that break to recharge. Without the guilt. It's tough but I promise you, your little human won't love you any less!!

How else can we use sensory bins?

COLOURS!!

This is a quick one I threw together while cooking Sunday lunch to keep my toddler busy and away from the hot stove!

I grabbed everything I could find that was GREEN 💚 and some left over coloured rice I had.

I emphasized the word GREEN as he played with the items and named each item in the bin.

Sensory play doesn't have to be fancy to be educational 😊 it just has to be fun!
