This morning, Vryburg experienced a bone-chilling low of -9.5°C, and widespread frost was reported across the region.

Despite the ICY conditions, schools reopened today, welcoming students back in this cold weather.

Note: Observations from Automatic Weather Stations verified by the South African Weather Service, so it’s VERY LIKELY that some areas were even COLDER!

Temporary Closure of the N11

MOKOPANE: Motorists are informed that N11 road is temporarily closed after the accident which occurred just few meters from Sekgakgapheng intersection and Ngwaditse bridge (about 2km's from town).

Two people died on the scene. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes like Dudu Madisha drive and others.

Class of 2023 achieved 82.9% pass rate.
