Living Your Journey with Yusuf Patel
Welcome to Living Your Journey with Yusuf Patel! I am a certified Arfeen Khan Life Coach, with a nic
I was sent this video this morning and it really moved me. There are people in this world who face challenges and obstacles that many of us can't even imagine. But with the willingness and the ability to overcome and succeed, they emerge victorious. This video actually left me speechless.
On my journey of becoming a life coach, I learnt that life coaching is not to advise or show people how to live life. It's about bringing together experiences from all over the world, and adapting it to become meaningful to oneself, so that it can propose a meaningful experience to another. We live in a global village, with social media linking billions of people together. There are billions of challenges and obstacles that we can adapt, translate, and implement into our own challenges that we struggle to face.
Challenge your norm and change your narrative. Open your senses to the world around you, and live your reality.
Did you know that around 60-70% of the human body is made up of water? Well now you do! So in order for us to get to know ourselves, let's speak about some fun facts about water π
1. All the water on Earth came from comets and asteroids! So you are definitely out of this world π
2. Water can disolve more substances than any other liquid, including sulfuric acid! You have the power to overcome whatever comes your way π
3. Nearly 97% of the world's water is salty, and only 3% is fresh water. Where do you choose to fall in?π
4. Water is essential for all living things. You are important. You matter. You are essential! β€οΈ
Life is about perspective. Find a healthy one! Have a great day π
I don't have much to say today. How are you? Are you coping? How have you managed to get out of tight corners this week? Drop a message or a comment and let me know. Drop some motivation in the comment section, you never know who's reading and who might need it. This journey isn't mine alone, it's ours.

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to all. I hope the week ahead is filled with goals, ideas, creativity, and overall confidence with every task and challenge that you face!
Been feeling a bit under the weather the past few days. My throat is quite sore, so I haven't been able to go live with you all yet. Shows me I should have a bit more appreciation for my voice, eh? Haha. That's life I guess. We only appreciate something when it's not there and we actually need it. Shouldn't have to be that way though. Appreciate those around you, before they're gone. Appreciate what you have, before it's lost. Appreciate your surroundings before they change. Just appreciate.
Have an amazing week. Smash those goals. Find happiness wherever it lurks. If you need a shoulder or a friend for some support, I'm just a message away. If you're doing well, be that friend and support for whoever else needs it. You never know who needs an extra bump of encouragement or confidence, so be lekker and be understanding πLet's help guide each other to the light switches βΊοΈ
What exactly is transformation? I'll be going live on the topic in a few days. But before that, I'd like to hear from you, what do you define as transformation? Is it just another word used for change? Is it something you'd like to achieve? What do you think when you hear of people speaking of personal transformation? What type of transformation would you like in your life, physically, emotionally, or spiritually? Please let me know in the comments, dms, whatsapp, whatever you're comfortable with. I'd love to hear from YOU! π

As our week comes to a close, I'd like to thank you all for following me on this journey and supporting me in the inception of "Living Your Journey". Being thankful and showing gratitude to people are divine acts, and a practice that has helped me through many stumbling moments.
Here's a little exercise that has helped me and many others in their journeys, especially when feeling a bit despondent. Breathe in deeply, exhale slowly. Clear your mind. Now, think of the top 5 things/people/circumstances in your life that you could/should be thankful for. How have they helped you? How would your life be without them? Have you done your best at appreciating them? And lastly, could you find more things to appreciate, or more things to feel despondent by?
Like, comment, share, interact and let me know what you think π
Have a great weekend, and don't forget to give thanks ππ
I met a person who couldn't walk, couldn't talk, and couldn't even feed himself. This person, however, had nobody telling him that he couldn't achieve these tasks. He was guided, motivated, and rewarded by cheers from everyone around him, by just trying to achieve these simple tasks. Eventually, after hundreds of attempts, he stood. He walked. He spoke. He ate. By himself.
This man is me, you, and every person you've met, and we've all achieved this in the first few years of our lives.
The ability to achieve and succeed is as inherent as the ability to walk. All we need is belief, support, consistent efforts, and we will find the reward.
Be the person that grows, encourages growth, and cheers on when others grow. Be kind when you find others learning to walk in different aspects of their lives.

HI! I'm Yusuf Patel, a 26year old gentleman from Cape Town, South Africa! I've always fancied myself as a student of the world, and all that the world has to offer. On this journey I've encountered some of life's greatest offerings and experiences. I've developed the love for business and customer interaction, interfacing with thousands of people and their life experiences and perspectives. I've networked with great-minds and taken from their teachings and experiences. With these experiences I've stumbled across many challenges, and at times some of those challenges broke me down, and immobilized me. Somehow, I've managed to stand up and grow through those challenges Until the year 2019 dawned on me...
In 2019 I came across challenges unlike any other year before! The year started off with trauma in death, loss of loved ones, depressive states, and things just went downhill from there! As they say, when it rains it pours. I felt as if I had hit rock bottom, and standing up was a tremendous task. I did what any person in my situation would do, I layed still and played dead. Nothing could attack me in that state. The downside to that was, I only sunk deeper and deeper into the rock that became my bed. This sucked, and I couldn't take it any longer! 8 months into the year, I told myself it's time to get back up. This was the most difficult part of my journey to date. Getting up. But as you know, momentum carries through, and life goes on. Day by day, life became easier, life became more meaningful, and I found joy in the little things. I put meaning to the fact that there is no Darkness, there is only an absence of light. However, there is still light. Instead of waiting to come out at the other end of the tunnel to reach this light, I found the light switch and turned it on myself.
Here I am, 1year later, amidst a pandemic that has thrown everyones lives with the biggest of curveballs. How do I manage? I look for the light switch. With this, I've dedicated hundreds of hours of my time, countless resources, and sweat and tears to a cause that I could derive meaning from. Life Coaching. I've developed a desire to help others in their journeys, and to ask questions that could lead them into finding the light.
With this, I present myself, my journey, my life. Welcome to my Journey, by Living Your Journey, with Yusuf Patel.
