Layering textures and finishes creates a warm space that is inviting. The footwear display that elevates the product, a putting green to test golf clubs and a generous point of sale creates a memorable space.

The Golf Shop at Beachcomber Paradis strikes the balance between performance retail and leisure lifestyle. Upon the approach and sweep of the store, you notice the warm materiality and clean lines.

Art installation inspired by the silver-blue scales of the Blue Marlin fish. The mobiles gently sway in the tropical breeze. Truly beautiful piece of art.

The private dining area at the Blue Marlin fine dining restaurant at Beachcomber Paradis has beautiful details that are inspired by the restaurant's namesake: the iconin blue marlin fish.

Rounded edges of the alcoves, smooth timber chairs with rounded backs and the arched wine displays are inspired by the fluid movement of the fish swimming in water.
The silver-blue finish of the frosted light feature and the scalloped floor tiles are reminiscent of the fish's scales.
The aggressive nature of the fish thrashing in water to catch its prey is depicted in the dramatic fabric ceiling installation.

The design of the restaurant is curated rather than themed, with layers of meaningful details. A truly inspiring and beautiful place, designed by Design Partnership.

The new bar area at Beachcomber Paradis, which serves as a waiting space between the two dining experiences, has its own unique design and colour palette with bespoke fittings, creating a place of its own instead of an in-between space.

Through placemaking, we have converted a in-btween space into a unique, authentic and memorable place.

Photos from Design Partnership's post 13/06/2024

The design of the restrooms for Beachcomber Paradis were carefully curated. The restrooms, which is normally considered a non-place, is a refreshing moment of delight. Directly next to a tropical courtyard of plants, the design is hospitality-led in the choice of soft colour palette, tactile materials and engaging artworks by local artists.

Diners seek more personalized and curated experiences, prioritise quality over quantity and expect a plethora of choice in dining experiences as opposed to choice in food. Our approach to redesigning the Beach Comber Paradis buffet space was to create a unique food experience, with a Mediterranean food offering focussed on sharing. The spatial concept was inspired by a food market by creating a hot live cooking sections, a Pizza counter and a walk in deli. We took inspiration from the various types of food and visual layers present in food markets to create interest and delight. A market is vibrant, exciting, engaging and nuanced, while a buffet space is commercial and pragmatic. We applied the concept and narrative of a market setting into the layout and the choice of materials and fittings. The various counters, kiosks and walk-in rooms, each have something unique; be it their colour palette, form or materiality that are part of a mediterranean design palette.

Space: guest buffet
Place: Mediterranean market

We think about visual merchandising when we design a store. In conjunction with the store environment it aims to attract attention and help guide customers on their shopping journey.

Together with Totalsports we created different merchandising opportunities in their stores, that not only activates changing product display but it also conveys the brand promise.
Picture description: Totalsports Promo Area, made up of a kit of parts and large digital screens. It can be reconfigured in endless configurations to create newness and excitement.

That Friday feeling. Shooting our gorgeous beach resort restaurant Blue Marlin . Stay tuned for the final photos.

Designing a restaurant at a beach resort requires careful consideration to the line of sight to the views no matter where the guest sits. But when the sun sets and the beach is in darkness, the design needs to be the hero and maintain that luxury resort feeling. Ambient lighting, art and quality finishes are key to creating a place with its own identity in such a beautiful setting.

Let us help you create a unique dining place for your guests.

The concept for draws inspiration of the whimsical and dreamlike jacaranda-lined streets of Brooklyn. Mirrored finishes are used to create dramatic reflections, blurring the lines of reality in space, aligning with the concept.

Lighting is an important tool used to add surprise and delight. Ceiling bulkheads are softly illuminated from above creating the illusion of floating. A handsome ceiling feature of repetitive golden rods over the main bar becomes the visual centerpiece, anchoring the space.

Drawing inspiration and anchoring a design concept in a place, such as Brooklyn, strengthens the connection between people and place.

Let us help you connect to your customers through our placemaking strategy.

Photos from Design Partnership's post 17/04/2024

The design for pays homage to the dream-like streets of its home in Pretoria; lined with mammoth Jacaranda trees in the springtime, Pretoria is an enchanting visual feast of intense violet. The ambition was to create a place where people meet to forge connections, to be energized and to create lasting memories, inspired by the beauty of its surroundings.

Layered floral patterns of varying sizes add drama and visual interest to the space, while the overall tonality leans heavily on tones of mauve – lending the experience to both daytime and nighttime entertainment.

The Zest Restaurant offers guests a Mediterranean experience.

Transforming Retail Experiences at the Point of Sale

The customer journey is made up of a series of carefully designed experiences and touchpoints. The thoughtful ex*****on of these experiences ensures that your brand, product or service is strongly differentiated and memorable. The retail point-of-sale counter is a critical part of this journey.

The Role of Point-of-Sale Counters?
1. Strategic Display: Elevate your store's aesthetics with our eye-catching displays, strategically placed to showcase impulse purchases. Maximize every footstep your customer takes!
2. Brand Messaging: Counters are more than transactional; they are canvases for your brand. Convey your unique messaging in a visually captivating manner, ensuring your brand resonates long after the purchase.
3. Lasting Impressions: In the realm of retail, first impressions are vital, but it's the lasting impressions that truly matter - create an experience that lingers, fostering customer loyalty and advocacy.

Great design can revolutionize the retail landscape, where every transaction becomes a seamless blend of functionality and brand storytelling.

Newscafe; it's about the vibe. We couldn't agree more. Great restauarants transcend mere spaces to dine; they are places that inspire, delight and immerse a guest in the whole experience.

We design great restaurants through our hospitality-led ethos and experience. Let us help you turn your space into a great place.

Photos from Design Partnership's post 27/01/2024

When designing restaurants, we focus on making the space feel welcoming throughout the guest’s experience, this requires a layering of comfort, intrigue and functionality.

Comfort is achieved through the choice of durable yet texturely and aesthetically pleasing fabrics.

Ceiling features and floor finishes not only demarcate seating areas but anchors them within the space, funtionally breaking up an otherwise sea of seats.

Adding elements that keep guests intrigued such as bespoke light fixtures creates moments of surprise and delight.

These are just some of the ways we brought our hospitality design ethos into the Newscafe at Witbank. Contact us for more information on how we can do the same for your restaurant.

Photos from Design Partnership's post 26/01/2024

The design for the Newscafe in Witbank was inspired by the surrounding coal mines. Metallic accents, impressive contours and an earthly colour palette all tell the story of concept.
