Our literacy drive last year garnered over 5000 books for learners. Over half the homes in this country don't have a single book. We want to change this. This video shows Zimasa reading Shining Star learners a book she wrote herself, with help from our fieldworkers, at one of our literacy workshops. 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟲𝟬 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗶 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 ✨ Starting Chance sponsored 60 teachers across 30 schools to attend first aid training this past Saturday. The Alumni team organised and ensured the training went ahead smoothly. Our Alumni help to make our training programmes more sustainable and they create a spirit of ubuntu amongst Starting Chance schools. ⭐ Lonwabo will have 3 spacious classrooms and a specially-designed outdoor play area.
⭐ It will also have a therapy and consulting area because many children needing speial care and educational support are undiagnosed and some are even hidden away.
⭐ Phase 2 of the campus being developed will add an early childhood development centre offering an includive start for children with the ability to go further.
