1948 Bentley - 4 carburettor
The only one of its kind in the world!

After the war my father pulled a few favours and managed to get his hands on this one of a kind Bentley. He found it too sedentary so he skimmed the head, designed and made his own 4 carb inlet manifold, polished the ports and made he few other tweaks. He got an extra 12 mph out of it!
Nobody believed one could get a 4 into 6 with even fuel distribution but he did just that!

In 1953 the word got out and W.O. Bentley himself came to see it and meet my father. They stayed on talking terms until W. O. Bentley died.
My father bought a new Bentley or Rolls every year until 1965 but always kept this as his baby. I imported it into SA when he died.
It still has all the original log books and has recently been restored.
