Please note that children under 5 years old (not 12 years old as ASATA communicated yesterday) currently do not need to provide PCR test results nor do they need to present a proof of vaccination when returning to South Africa.

The poorly communicated and confusing changes implemented by the government are a cause of great frustration for everyone!!
There are currently no clear guidelines for children over 5 and under 12. They are too young to be vaccinated and too old to be exempt from PCR testing before travel.

All travellers (over the age of 5) may now present proof of full vaccination or a negative PCR test result if they are partially or non-vaccinated.

Children under the age of 5 can travel without PCR test results or vaccination certificates.

Note to enter South Africa: The regulation is clear and it states that you are either fully vaccinated* and produce the vaccination certificate OR a Negative PCR which is not applicable to children under 5. (*as per Vaccine requirement.)

Please make sure that all children over 5 years of age who have not been fully vaccinated still provide a PCR Test on arrival in South Africa!
