We are all about taking the road less travelled!! This is the beautiful Prince Alfred’s Pass near Knysna. A beautiful stretch of road that will have you exploring parts of the Garden Route few people know about.

We are always looking at how to adapt our Jimny’s to make them the perfect road trip adventurer while maintaining our minimalist travel philosophy.

We are on the way to Cape Town to join the Cape Country Routes Amazing Race kicking off on Monday. Decided to enjoy a peaceful break at the stunning Teri-Lemveli Lodge Beaufort West just outside Beaufort West. This really is a beautiful place to break up the journey and soak in that crisp Karoo air.

There has been a lot of rain in the Kruger over the past few weeks but the wildlife sightings are exceptional as always!!

We managed a quick drive through the park on a recent vehicle delivery to Skukuza and bumped into this very relaxed Elephant.

Cannot recommend Stuart and his team at Tread Lite enough! I had the most fantastic trip around South Africa and Lesotho in a Suzuki Jimny. Drove thousands and thousands of kilometres solo without a hitch, including on some very rough roads. I loved how I was able to select what gear to include - everything I needed but nothing I didn't meant I had heaps of space in the car and it was super easy to load and unload every day. Stuart really went above and beyond to provide support when I was on the road, even offering to check on the car's location when I was travelling into some particularly rough roads (post drought-breaking rain in the Karoo) in areas with no phone reception. I've never had such fantastic service with any other car rental company, including well-known 4x4 rentals in Namibia. I can't wait to hire one of these awesome cars again and explore more of this astonishingly beautiful region!

Ending a busy week in the office like....

If you are looking for solitude then you should head to the Karoo. This is taken from one of our favourite Karoo escapes - New Holme Nature Lodge in the Khoisan Karoo Conservancy.

Taking the Jimny as far south as we can go! The southern most point of the African continent is at Cape Agulhas and the scenery down here is spectacular.

Why take a Jimny rental for your road trip from Cape Town through the Garden Route? So you can explore the many kilometers of sandy back roads and mountain passes which make this region so spectacular.
