📸 Things are continuing to take shape over at our restaurant/clubhouse site: the furniture has landed and is being unwrapped, while the custom dining tables (mentioned in our last post) have come to life and been installed in the dining area (which is decked out with our fabulous decorative tile design)… ✨

All on track for some summer fun and a grand opening soon! 😎☀️

Things are shaping up at the site of one of our latest design projects… The restaurant dining area is coming together and the custom-made solid wood table tops have landed (courtesy of woodworking guru Allen Petrie from in Salt Rock).

We love that we’ve been able to incorporate the warmth and texture of natural wood grain into the aesthetic of this space… In the words of the great architect Frank Lloyd Wright: “Wood is universally beautiful to man. It is the most humanly intimate of all materials.”

We couldn’t agree more. 😉

✨ We love it when interior design is used to create clever, multi-functional spaces… A weekend visit to the recently-opened at the in Salt Rock brought a smile to our lips when we caught a glimpse of their in-store art gallery. The small section of blank wall dedicated towards showcasing local art through monthly exhibitions is perfectly functional, minimalist & eye-catching: a mini gallery space born out of little more than some eyebolts, a few metres of stainless steel wire rope, and some binder clips. Sometimes keeping it simple really is the best approach. 😎

Catch the latest exhibition - “Laundry: A Guide To Labels” (a photographic collbaoration between local clothing brand and talented photographer Wenzile Nkabinde ) - on at Skyline Coffee Salt Rock until the 29th of November. ☕️📷

DESIGN UPDATE: Here’s a cheeky sneak peek of the outside patio area at one of our current estate clubhouse projects. Lush, leafy design elements and a coastal forest colour pallette contrasting against soothing neutral greys and natural wood… 🌿 We can’t wait for the final reveal! Watch this space... 👀

Let it glow! We love celebrating local creativity and shining a light on female entrepreneurs, so it’s no surprise that has been catching our eye lately. ✨👀 What’s not to love about a Durban-based, female-run business that plays with light, colour, typography and design?!

At the end of 2018 (after many, many globetrotting adventures), Glow Co. founder Brogan Metcalfe noticed something: neon signs seemed to be a key feature in every place she travelled to. The bright lights and fascinating designs drew people together, caught their attention, and created playful focal points in both interior and exterior settings.

She realised that this design space was sorely under-served in South Africa and that there was a definite niche waiting to be filled: and so the dream began….

Applying modern production techniques and utilising the latest LED neon flex lighting materials, The Glow Co. has been making its mark on the local design scene with affordable, eye-catching neons that literally light up a room and get people talking.

We’re looking forward to collaborating with Brogan and her team o future projects as they continue to grow and glow! 😉💡

While we love working on residential spaces of all shapes and sizes, we also really enjoy being able to sink our teeth into a hospitality project. These mood board snippets from a restaurant revamp we’re working on draw inspiration from a coastal forest colour pallete and incorporate plenty of timber cladding along with various seating options for an eclectic, multi-functional dining space that’s both modern & inviting… 🍽

The work studios range in size from 4 – 8sqm. Garden Studios offers four different architect-designed prefabricated models, available in various finishes. While we’ve been working on the interior design of yet another awesome show house (this time at The Reserve- Zululami), we love this teaser pic that The Window Boutique posted of their fabulous foliage-inspired wallpaper we’ve incorporated in the bathroom…

A bold statement piece that’s waterproof and fade-resistant: you’d be forgiven for lingering a little longer in the shower to take it all in. 😉🚿
