The type of carbohydrates (fructose and glucose) in honey are easier for the body to digest than table sugar.
The balance of fructose and glucose in honey means that it has less of an impact on raising blood glucose levels.
Honey is a great fast-acting carbohydrate source that can be used to treat low blood glucose if needed.
Honey has a deeper, sweeter taste than table sugar. Because of this, youβll probably use less of it when cooking or baking.

OUR ONE-OF-A-KIND CAPE HONEYBEE π
The Cape region is home to a very special kind of honeybee. Apis mellifera capensis (the Cape honeybee) is one of only two honeybee subspecies found in South Africa and occur naturally within the Fynbos ecoregion in the southwestern section of South Africa πΏπ¦
Although small, the Fynbos ecoregion contains over 80% of the flower diversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom, has more species of plants than any other area in the world, and is able to support a remarkable diversity of life. Beekeepers in the Western Cape rely on Fynbos as an important forage source for their bees at certain times of the year and as a result, have the unique opportunity to produce distinctive Fynbos honey!
Due to decades of bad farming habits, beekeeper malpractice, habitat loss and climate change, honeybees globally are under threat. The limited distribution of the Cape honeybee creates an even bigger call for their conservation and protection. Cape honeybees are important pollinators of pollination-dependent food crops, flowering plants, and many fynbos species as well as being uniquely adapted to survive in extreme Cape weather conditions ππ§
β’
The Cape honeybee is also perhaps the most distinctive subspecies of Apis mellifera worldwide because of its unique reproductive ability to lay diploid female eggs, while workers of other subspecies can only lay haploid male eggs. Queenless colonies of Cape honeybees can survive for some period of time and can even rear a new queen from a laying worker's eggs, making them more resilient. This ability unfortunately also allows the Cape honeybee to become parasitic in African and European honeybee colonies and therefore shouldnβt be kept outside of the Fynbos ecoregion of South Africa.

π𧑠Many plants need insect pollinators to move their pollen from flower to flower.β ββββββββ
The flowers have the pollen and want to distribute it. The bees need the pollen and want to acquire it. So they have a deal: make a fair and equitable transfer of goods and services.β ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Bees will use their sense of smell to find blooming plants that contain pollen and nectar. Honeybees have hair all over their bodies, and even have tiny hairs on their eyes. Once a bee lands on a flower, like a static charge, the pollen from a flower will jump onto a bee's fuzzy body. And when the bee lands on another flower, here comes the miracle: pollination, which brings new flowers!β¨β ββββββββ
ββββββββ
The nectar collected by the bees is for energy and the pollen provides protein and other nutrients. Most of it is used as larvae food.βββββββββββββββ
