Will you be at the Start of Sunday's Scatter Run ? Only 36 hours left to enter - entries must close at midnight on Thu 17th August.

There has been an amazing amount of interest shown in the event, in our page and in all the posts that we've done over the past couple of weeks.

You now need to take the next step and enter the event !

Questions you might be asking yourself:
Will I enjoy it ? Well, the majority of people who have been to a Scatter Run keep on coming back to future events so, yes, we believe that you will enjoy it.
Will I get lost ? At some stage during the event, you probably will ! You might not know exactly where you are, but you will relocate, you will survive and you will reach the finish !!
What will the weather be like ? The forecast for Sunday is warm and dry so even the early starters will not get cold.

Did the blue route at Made on Earth Hiking Trails this morning with Warnell Engelbrecht scouting and opportunities. Peered into the cave entrance but will have to come back to go into the three chambers with a bright torch!
Updated the map and now have the all the routes clearly marked. Will publish shortly.

Here is an excerpt from the Treasure Run map. The lower area of the map has plenty of paths, while there is a lot of open space higher up on the ridge where the Control Points will be placed some way off the paths.

Working on a new map for Paddle Power on the banks of the Crocodile River. This map is just done from Google Earth so there are lot of guesses. Going there tomorrow to update the map!

O-Ventures specialises in providing fun, intriguing and challenging activities based on orienteering.

We design our activities to be fun (yet challenging) and exciting and they require elements of team work, communication, co-operation, trust and initiative.

We tailor all our activities to meet your specific needs, requirements, time constraints and budget and work with you to set up the right package suited to your group.

We can cater for groups of any size regardless of age, ability or fitness level.

We are experienced Orienteers and coaches.

Our Street-O events can start and finish at your office or where appropriate.

We offer a range of locations in Gauteng.

Teambuilding

We offer corporate orienteering teambuilding experiences. We primarily use Johannesburg Zoo, Delta Park, Emmarentia and other city parks. Orienteering is a thinking sport and is great to inspire communication, team management and problem solving.

We can also offer these corporate orienteering packages around the rest of South Africa.

Street Orienteering (Street-O)

Street-O is orienteering on the streets of our suburbs. Equipped with a map and a set of questions, you need to navigate to find each checkpoint and answer the question. Each correct answer has a points value. The more you find the greater your score. Where possible we base our street-O events at schools. The older participants can do the Street-O while younger and less adventurous can do an Orienteering Course in the school grounds.

Perfect for all groups including corporate, school and youth groups

We provide full equipment and instruction

You need no previous experience and it is suitable for all abilities, ages or fitness levels

We tailor activities to meet the group’s requirements and ensure they are always lots of fun

Karen Chambers

Karen has been involved in Orienteering since 2010 and has run the Gauteng North Schools Orienteering League for the past 5 years. In that time, the league has grown from just over 100 participants to 433 participants from 18 different schools. She is a qualified teacher and Level 1 Orienteering Coach.

Karen is the VP for Development for the South African Orienteering Federation (SAOF).

Richard Lund

Richard started Orienteering in 2000 and has been an active competitor and has also been deeply involved with the administration and running of the sport at both Club and Federation level. He has also managed teams at the Junior World Championships. He is the VP Marketing for the South African Orienteering Federation.
