Black Lives matter period. If that triggers you my invitation is to reflect on these words:
Triggers are a call to you by yourself to grow.
It's not about just one man it is about all of the pain. These protests, posts and voices are a call for all of us to raise our consciousness. It is time for real change.
Mental health is inextricably linked with your physical and emotional well being.
Finding every day practices to maintain your own sanity in this, frankly, crazy society of ours I believe is a must.
Thank you Prince Ea for this great video.
When life hits you, learn to hit it back harder.
-
A little motivation going into the weekend. You got this. π
-
Just a friendly reminder that the power is in our hands.
-
You're in charge of your own health and wellness.
-
No one else will do it for you.
-
If you feel like rubbish. It's probably time to shift some priorities around and make yourself number 1.
-
Don't fall into the trap of only focusing on 1 aspect of your wellbeing. Learn to fit them all in so you live a better and healthier life.

Much love.

Human connection is vital for our wellbeing and optimum functionality physically, mentally & emotionally.
-
We are social creatures by nature and even the introverted need friendship, love and support.
-
Loneliness is a one way ticket to misery and despair.
-
Let's fight the loneliness, together. Let's harmonise instead of polarise.

It really helps me out and let's me know you're enjoying the content.
-
How high will you climb today?
-
It won't be easy, but nothing worth having in life is easy.
-
Do it anyway and see how far you can get. If you fall, that's no problem because you only fail when you give up.
-
Keep trying. You will succeed
-
Much love.
-
It can be hard to remember this at times.
-
Your wellbeing is heavily reliant on your social wellbeing and not just that of your physical health.
-
It is important to realise that your value is not dependent on anyone else but yourself. If you believe you have value and worth then that will show itself.
-
Not everyone may see your value and that's okay. Most people experience life through their own filters and you may not fit into their picture. That's okay.
-
It's much like not being able to please everyone.
-
Just remember that there will always be people that do value you. Remember that the most inportant person that should see your worth is yourself above everyone else.
-
Life is too short to worry about those that do not honour your gifts.
-
Honour yourself.
-
When you have the opportunity to climb a mountain, I think you should always take it.
-
Live a life where you can accept a challenge and reap the rewards like this amazing view.
-
I quite like this metaphor.
-
Some of us need a hard nudge and others of us need a gentle reminder that we are greater than what we believe.
-
Our potential is limitless.
-
Finding your wellness and connection with yourself and others is a step to finding your wings and finding flight.
-
How high will you fly?
-
The feeling of wellbeing can be brought on my many things. π€©
-
Laughter, fun, exercise, eating a healthy & satisfying meal, s*x, learning something new, losing body fat etc. π₯³
-
Most of it involves your lifestyle. So make a choice to change something in your lifestyle so that you feel better. It is as simple as that. π€―
-
The hardest part is convincing yourself to overcome the fear of making the choice. π
-
The easiest way to get over that hurdle is to feel the fear & do it anyway. πͺπΌ
-
If you want to lose fat for instance, you know the best method is to eat fewer calories than what you expend. Very basically, eat less food & move more. π€―
-
Whilst I realise that advice lacks context, it is the basic principle one needs to follow & you have to action it to see the results you want.
-
If you struggle to reliably put into action what you need to do. That is what coaches are there for. Hire a good coach to keep you accountable and on track.
-
π€ lifting faces = not so attractive...
-
I remember my Nan once said to that when the clock strikes 12 it will stay like that.
-
Haha, good thing I don't train anywhere near midday or midnight.
-
Throwback to my session at CrossFit San Francisco.
Not that paying a Dr. for doing a good job is a bad thing. Drs. can be our saviours when it comes to saving our lives from infectious disease or helping us heal physical trauma but most Drs. are not in the fight against sedentarism and poor lifestyle choices.
-
What I'm saying is that you have the ability and the responsibility to look after your own health. It's YOUR health and wellness.
-
If you need guidance and account, that is why coaches exist.
-
Your lifestyle is a big determining factor in how healthy you are these days because most of the rest of our risk factors are taken care of, generally speaking...
-
If you have a smart phone and reading this you have adequate access to medical services, you have food, running water, sewage facilities and electricity. Your socioeconomic and environmental circumstances are probably pretty good.
-
So let's be preventative with your health and wellness rather than reaction based.
-
HAHA! A face to remember when lifting 100kg overhead.
-
Where your mind is your body will follow.
-
Your mindset literally dictates your life. It is the keyhole through which you see your life and the paradigm in which you function.
-
Thankfully, for some, it's not permanent or static.
-
We are only limited by our own inability to broaden our own outlook, our perspective.
-
Life cannot be put down to just ones and zeroes or black and white. Context is always needed and there will always be grey areas.
-
The answers you seek are most often found inside of yourself.
-
(How very zen of me π)
-
Sometimes you need to turn your own world upside down to see the perspective you need for change.

-
If you need something in your life to change it's important to first reflect on what you actually want to change and how you're going to change it.
-
The next step is to take consistent action to change it until that change occurs.
-
No magic pill here. It requires work.
-
If you want to lose fat. You will have to change some things to suit the goal until you lose that fat. If you want to gain some muscle you will have change some things to suit that goal too.
-
You either do it. Or you don't.
-
And don't stress about failing. You only fail if you give up.
-
I keep posting about self-awareness and consciousness. Why?
-
Well it's because the more aware you become of how your own mind works and operates the more power you feel like you have over your life.
-
A lot of people still feel powerless in their lives. Like nothing is under their control.
-
By practicing mindfulness you gain back you control little by little the better you get at it.
-
How to do it? Just start logging your thoughts. Write them down and if you have someone close to you, bounce them off of that person.
-
How does this fit into fitness and health?
-
It fits in because it allows you to gradually get over your mental barriers to physical activity and eating fewer and better quality foods.
-
On the theme of choice today. Here is another one to remember.
-
We can choose to feel the negatives and become those feelings or we can choose to step outside of those feelings and objectively witness them, analyse them and from there you can plan a course of action.
-
Does this take mental and emotional fortitude? Yes it does! Does it take skill and persistence? Yes it does.
-
As Nike would say: "Just do it."
-
The more I grow as a person the more I realise that our lives are in fact a product of our own choices and mindset.
-
My experience has shown me how easy it is to be stuck in victimhood whilst using external means of escape to avoid the feelings of pain that it brings. Things that have the potential to develop into addictions for me. (Gaming, drugs, alcohol, s*x etc.)
-
In reality, things may happen to us. Things in life may challenge us and it is up to us to decide how we react to the situation.
-
The more I realise this. The more I choose to step out of the victim mentality and forge ahead. I choose to be a witness of my feelings and pain rather than becoming them. In this I find resilience.
-
If you're health and your body is starting to fail you in some ways, like feeling weak or fat and if that is impacting you mentally and emotionally and possibly even socially because of your confidence, you have the choice to change it.
-
Each choice will have an outcome. Good or bad or both. It's up to you to make it. You'll get no where in life if you cannot make you're own mind up.
-
Social media gives us this false sense of reality where we think that all models and celebrities look the same throughout the year.
-
For most, it simply isn't true. You have to remember that even the people you idolise are human. Some gain some fat and retain some water. Most women have some degree of cellulite and we all have to poo at some stage too. π©
-
Stop being so hard on yourself. We don't have to be glamorous all the time. Come back down to Earth π from time to time.
-
Just a friendly message from human to human.
-
Much love
-
The more you know about how your body works & the more self aware you are the better your chances of staving off the negative consequences a poor lifestyle can have on your body.
-
Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to your health & your body.
-
Learning how to be mindful of yourself and your body & empowering & arming yourself with evidence-based knowledge & principles is more likely to keep you in tip top shape & health.
-
Perhaps a bit more harshly candid than what I was intending, however it certainly puts your choices into perspective.
-
π½As Yoda once said: Do or Do not, there is no try.
-
Does this mean that every waking moment of every day has to be about making better healthier choices.
-
Well, no not really. I don't think you can go through life not enjoying some of our modern pleasures. Like Cookie dough Ben & Jerries Ice cream π€€
-
A good approach is the 80% 20% rule. Make the best healthy choices you can for yourself 80% of the time, CONSISTENTLY. Cut loose the other 20%
-
Some people can do 70/30. After all they are just numbers. You do you. Just make the right decision for your health.
-
Much love π
We underestimate and in many cases take for granted how much a healthy life is essential for living a happy life.
-
Infirmity, disease and injury are not fun to experience. At least in my experience when I couldn't walk for 6 months. All I longed for was to be able to walk again, to run again and funnily enough to be able to squat.
-
Don't take your health and fitness for granted. You have no idea when it will suddenly be taken from you.
-
Take care of yourself & live your best life possible while you still have it.
-
win at your wellness & you'll win at life.
If you have any fitness or wellness goals it is important that you take some time to reflect on where you are now. Where you want to be and what you're going to do to get there.

Do not neglect the opportunity to stay strong & healthy whilst you still have the ability to move well.

Think prevention over treatment.
