The Aloe is a plant that has been used for healing purposes for well over 3,000 years. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans studied it very intensively.
I live in the little Karoo, surrounded by seemingly endless numbers of Aloe Ferox (Cape Aloe) plants and having worked for a number of years in the Aloe industry, where most of the product is exported, I decided with the help of a friend to start up a sma They used it as the active ingredient in many remedies they made over time for treating human health problems. Extracts from the aloe plant have
also been part of the Southern African indigenous traditional medicine and have become popular throughout the world. Aloe-based products are the sixth most popular items sold in health and wellness stores in the USA today. Aloe gel is an excellent treatment for skin conditions such as rashes, itches, sunburn, burns and eczema. It is often reported that burns can be healed remarkably quickly and the pain reduced very quickly with topical application of Aloe gel to the burn area. As well as applying topically, Aloe can also be taken internally in juice form. Aloe works on membranes and surfaces and is just as useful for internal epithelial tissue as it is for the skin. For example, mouth and stomach ulcers, nasal and sinuses, bowels, lungs and ge***al tracts. Aloe also seems to be excellent at regulating the immune system (an immunomodulator). This means it can both stimulate the immune response for those with weakened immune systems either from exisiting conditions or post-illness fatigue. It can also calm the immune response, such as for hayfever where less immune reaction is beneficial. Aloe Extracts cc relies exclusively on extracts from the leaf of the Cape Aloe, (Aloe Ferox) which is grown wild and without the use of any artificial pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Aloe Ferox is similar in composition to Aloe Vera, however the Aloe Ferox ,which is found in South Africa’s Little Karoo area, has been shown to be the more effective of the two in many respects. In scientific tests performed at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens in Cape Town, South Africa (January 1987), it was found that Aloe Ferox was more effective in most respects than Aloe Vera. Aloe Juice
Aloe juice is derived from the green part of the leaf that surrounds the gel, and is ingested orally. When taken daily, aloe juice provides digestive benefits. Drink 2 to 8 oz. aloe juice every day to reap the benefits of the herb's natural healing properties. Some of the minerals found in aloe vera juice include calcium, sodium, iron, potassium, chromium, magnesium, manganese, copper, and zinc. The juice is the liquid form of aloe ferox, and the texture is much less thick than the gel. Aloe Ferox Gel
Aloe gel is thick and is ideally used in topical application. The aloe from the leaf is a clear gel, but is often dyed green in commercial products. It is sold in a bottle and can either be squeezed out or pumped like soap. Aloe gel can be found in hundreds of skin products, including lotion and sunblock.
