A Slow Day

Although not always possible, we try our best to host a Slow Day every change of season.
We were blessed with a beautiful sunny Winter’s day for this edition.
Slow living was at the order of the day and guests enjoyed beautiful views, painting lessons, poetry reading and flyfishing.
… not to forget the delicious menu by chef , signature cocktails by mixologist and live french music by Phillipe Abalovi.

With three, well stocked trout dams on the property, our guests get the most out of their fly fishing experience when staying with us.
Both the Silo Lodge and the Oak House each have their own private trout dam, with another dam situated between both houses for the enjoyment of all guests.
We offer angling rod rental & fly fishing lessons as well.

Our Story
Best known for its Bordeaux-style accommodation and secluded countryside atmosphere, African Leaves is a guest farm situated approximately 23 km's outside of Dullstroom on route to Lydenburg and the Kruger National Park.
It is a trout lodge also known for The Hothouse wedding venue, providing MacNabs in the winter as well as an ideal location for Dullstroom golf weekends. It is regarded as an excellent fishing spot by members of the Gauteng Fly Fishing Club, is a part of the ‘Zuikerboschhoek Bewarea’ and is home to fallow deer, ‘blesbok’ and other species of wildlife. There is a natural waterfall and 2 km’s of natural river running through the forest.
Oak House sleeps 10 persons and Silo Lodge sleeps 6 persons.
It is a self-catering lodge providing guests with the ultimate relaxing and private weekend away.
