Hier is al ons shows vir Desember!

These scenes all date back to late 2013 - photos taken on iPhone4 and Blackberry! In October of that year we toured around the country, playing up the Garden Route, the Wild Coast, Durbs, Gauteng and back down the N1 via Smithfield and so on. By November we were back in Cape Town and soon went into the studio with Tim Rankin. We recorded about 16 or 17 songs, but they were long (extra-long!) and meandering (extra!) and we never quite settled on which parts we liked and which not. Eventually, years later, we trimmed here and there, and lifted out the key tracks to release. That's how our latest album 'Voortvlugtend' came about. We're making 20 limited edition CD-Rs which will come in a small box containing 11 unique photographs each - along the lines of these shots. If you'd like to reserve one of these CD-Rs, please send a message. Thanks!

Thanks to Brett Houston-Lock for this awesome write-up of Makhanda (Grahamstown) bands. That's where The Buckfever Underground started in the late 1990s, and he's right - the centre of the creative universe it certainly was for us. Brett writes about many of the bands of our era, plus those that came before and after. It includes references to Buckfever-founder member Gil Hockman and his successful solo career in the last decade and a bit, plus Jon Savage, originally the third Buck, and still one whenever we call on him. Some behind the scene photos from our session back on 17 May 2021 at Capeaudiocollege where Ian Watson and his team of students recorded and live-streamed a show for us. We were honoured to play with two Cape Town musicians we have immense respect for - Alex Bozas (Benguela) and Paul Opie (Lithium). The recording made that day was used to pick out two tracks, 'Driving on the N2 with ghosts in my car' and 'Die Nagorno-Karabakh-blues', which were mixed by Stephen and released this month on Bandcamp.
