On we're celebrating Spekboom, our Sauvignon Blanc named after a very clever plant, of which we've planted an abundance on the farm. It absorbs more CO2 from the atmosphere than most other plants and helps our tireless efforts to produce all our wines sustainably.
Just as summer celebrates the fertile greenery of the vineyard and foliage, the autumn months herald the arrival of deep reds, yellow hues and golden-like leaves.

Why is our farm so suited to producing Chardonnay? Being so close to the coast means the south-easterly facing slopes of our vineyard benefit from cooler condtions, which in turn provides an elongated ripening for Chardonnay grapes, giving a high, natural acidity.

We work closely with the church in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village to improve conditions and opportunity within the local community. With the 2024 harvest complete, a summary from our winemaker Mike Dawson: “The stark contrast between the whimsical conditions of 2023 and the streamlined efficiency of 2024 is unmistakable. While last year's harvest lingered until mid-April due to adverse weather, this vintage stands out for its brevity, starting and finishing earlier than any since 2016. Despite contending with the challenges presented by formidable SE winds, resulting in a lighter Chardonnay crop, the quality of our wines has exceeded expectations. The health of our vineyards and the optimal fermentation kinetics have truly shone through, boasting pristine aromas and distinctive flavour profiles. We're excited to share these exceptional wines with the world.“
