A client had a problem with his pool timer. He told me budget was tight. I asked him if he would like to do it. I will guide him every step of the way. I asked him to turn off his supply in his main house. Then asked him before he removes the cover of pool DB. Is the orange light on the timer off. He said yes. I said good. That means the power is off.

Then I asked h to remove the cover. Take a picture and send it over WhatsApp. I called him back and Guided him on the disconnection of his timer.

End result. He can turn his pool pump on / off by a breaker until budget is there for his to have the timer replaced.

Nice work! Keep safe. Always make sure power is off. Prefer you call a qualified electrician. Sometimes we all have a hidden skill. We just need to be guided on how to do it.

Client sent me a picture of something glowing on the ground below the council electricity box. I told him to turn his power off. Don't touch anything metal in the house. When I arrived at his house. I took this picture. It's the Earth Spike / Rod in the ground. He had lost his incoming neutral from overhead line of council. With that effect the return current had gone down to his Earth Spike. Extremely Dangerous. Happy no one was hurt during this ordeal. All fixed now. Back to normal. Mowbray Cape Town.
