The visit aimed to assess the production processes, food safety standards, and how the cold chain is maintained at the facility.

PURCO SA Conference 2024: Meet Mr. Bernard Booysen

Mr. Bernard Booysen has been Nelson Mandela University's Travel Buyer for 17 years and he is part of the organizing committee for the PURCO SA 2024 Conference. He enjoys using his travel expertise to find cost-effective flights, accommodations, and car rentals for faculty, staff, and students, including the Vice Chancellor, Prof Muthwa.

The role can be demanding, with after-hours support needed for flight changes, missed connections, and unexpected accommodation issues. However, Mr. Bernard finds it rewarding to help others travel smoothly.

University News | New engineering qualifications proposed for South Africa

The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) has proposed 13 new occupational qualifications, which are available for public comment.

These qualifications range from National Qualification Framework (NQF) level 3 to level 6 and include four engineering qualifications.
