During Takealot's annual golf day and auction at the Atlantic Beach Golf Club, where they raised funds for a worthy cause, Community Medics was deeply grateful and honoured to be chosen as this year's beneficiary.

Just as Takealot aims to save customers time and money, enable businesses, and create opportunities, our mission at Community Medics is to reduce our response time and ensure that our Community Medics Response Vehicles and volunteers are adequately equipped to give back to the community.

Thank you, Takealot, for allowing us the time to talk to the participants about Community Medics - and especially for your generous support in helping us provide first-world emergency medical care, free of charge, to all people in need.

Hosted by the MOTH Blaauwberg Cuca Shellhole at Portalia Restaurant, Community Medics had a blast during one of their recent Bingo Nights!

Held on the last Tuesday of every month, this fun event brought together volunteers and family members for a wonderful evening filled with laughter and luck.

It was not only a great opportunity to show our support and gratitude - as a portion of the ticket proceeds are kindly donated to Community Medics - but also to have a great time together!

The evenings fill up quickly, so booking long in advance is essential for anyone wanting to join in this fun event.

Wishing to be prepared in the event of a medical emergency, 19 members of the public recently joined us at our Base at Netcash, Parklands, to successfully complete an Emergency First Aid Responder course.

Wanting to give back to their community, some have already raised their hands to join Community Medics as a First Responder and / or help with manning the emergency call phone to dispatch volunteers to critical situations.

For those moments between calls, or a debrief after a scene, Seattle Coffee Company, at the Caltex fuel station on Link Road, is one of our favourite pit-stops.

On Monday, 15 April, Community Medics volunteers traded in their jumpsuits for aprons, as we joined the team at Panarottis Table Bay Mall to serve our community their favourite pizzas.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the evening.

We’d like to especially thank Panarottis for their generous donation of a percentage of the evening’s sales to Community Medics, as well as Barter Advisory Services for the much-appreciated contribution they made while enjoying their Panarottis meal!

These essential donations will help ensure we continue to have the necessary resources to help save lives.

A little over three years ago, Community Medics was honoured to be handed the keys to a new response vehicle (RV04) sponsored by Wynberg Rotary and fellow Rotary Clubs.

This generous donation by multiple Rotary clubs continues to serve our community, keeping our volunteers safe during shifts, attending to many medical emergencies, and helping save lives.

Thank you Wynberg Rotary and Wynberg Rotaract for your ongoing support of our organisation.

In July 2021, Community Medics received a brand new Response Vehicle from The Margot Picard Trust, which entered service as RV05.

Until her death in 2017, Margot was very involved in the community and was a Board member of the Milnerton Community Crime Watch, as well as an Honorary Rotarian. She often participated in fundraising and community projects, as well as donating to the Society for the Blind.

We were humbled in 2021 being selected as a worthy cause, and we continue to be extremely grateful for the donation.
RV05 can often be heard in the Table View and surrounding areas as its sirens announce a medical emergency.

Thank you to the Margot Picard Trust, your generosity has meant so much to many patients in need.

Their commitment to promoting well-being for all is truly inspiring.
