CUT SRC 2021/2022

Dear Students

Kindly take note that the SRC had intended to convene an urgent Mass Meeting to report out from office and to discuss issues which are prevailing in our Institution particularly in Welkom Campus, precisely around Assessments and Registrations, and Finances. As we are quite aware that most of the student have not participated in the mid-year examinations and as a result, were unable to register and some of the students, are still having financial crisis with NSFAS and the institution as is entrusted to distribute Student's allowances accordingly.

We are therefore challenged by fairly minor setbacks from the office of the Registrar which seeks to suggest that the current SRC is not legible to sustain the status of representing the students, furthermore, it was stated that the SRC members serving in the SRC are ineligible to continue serving due to academic legibility.

The situation is indeed severe, and in situations like this, we need to be more vigilance and tactic in approach.
We just need to bring this factore to your attention.

Dear Students

We are quite aware of the situation which is leading to confusion and frustration to you, more especially on the question of Assessments, Results, Registrations, and unfoldings of second semester.

Your frustration is genuine and noted, on our side as the Statutory body, we are exploring all avenues in circumventing these challenges.
Over and above, we would like you to know that we are with you all in these trying times, there will be no point at any give time wherein the current SRC incumbent shall leave you alone on your struggles. You are our brothers and sisters in arms.

We are also hoping to meet you all on an Imbizo, to afford you time to officially ventilate your issues and concerns, and to also afford ourselves an opportunity to can collectively strategize possible way forwards in combating these challenges that we are experiencing, but then we are aware that most of you are on Practicals, that's where we are experiencing a challenge of scheduling an Imbizo. However, we shall communicate date and time as in when we have figured proper timing for an Imbizo.

Dear beloved Welkom Campus students

Today marks the 12th day since the declaration of protest by the Students through the SRC to boycott sit-in Examination in favour of Online Examination, and we are not backing down until the realization of our objectives.

With interdicts or not, or with SRC or not we are soldiering on. We are aware of the tactics which seeks to silent the SRC through frivolous charges and court orders. If SG gets to be suspended or President gets to be suspended, why not the entire Council members or all students? but few individuals gets to be singled out, we are aware of all these bogus arrangements which aims to silence the voice of Student's leaders. The question is who is next to be suspended as a means to silence the voice of the voiceless? We need not to surrender, retreat nor compromise. But to push forward till the final whistle blow.

To also clarify rumors around the stance of the SRC, we would like to inform you that the SRC is in firm and bold support of the cause for the realization of online Examination and we are saying: ! none of the SRC member is capable of aborting this noble and supreme mandate. At times we always say; "in the absence of leadership, masses shall lead themselves" this is a clear indication that this struggle is the people's struggle not an individual issue at an expense of majority.

Over and above, the main idea of this communique is to invite you all to a Student Imbizo which will take according to the following manner:
Date: 18th July 2022
Time: 07:00 for 07:30
Venue: Soccer Field Near Small Teba

For the benefit of those who takes time to catch the drift, tomorrow's paper is not taking place until the last paper of the 20th July. If you are way far from campus or out of campus and struggles a lot when it comes to transport, do not bother yourself to come but if you are around, please make it a point that you come to campus to join us on this cause.
