I recently chatted with someone struggling to find a job in this tough economy. If you're feeling the same way, remember: this is not permanent.

Here are a few tips to help you stay motivated:

1. Network: Connect with friends, family, and former coworkers. You never know where an opportunity might come from.
2. Learn New Skills: Use free online resources to build your skills and make yourself more marketable.
3. Stay Positive: Focus on the positives and keep your spirits high. Your efforts will eventually pay off.

OK so the past couple of years water levels at Kariba dam have been low and apparently keep getting low, so what is the plan ayi? I'm just thinking here, instead of getting investors to mine our minerals, why not get investors to work with for solar and gas solutions for our people, at affordable rates. 🤔

It's Motivation Monday!

Do you take ownership for your work or do you just wait to hit 5 pm and run out the door? Ownership is not just about completing tasks; it's about assuming responsibility from start to finish and being accountable for the results.

It reminds me of a time I worked with a particular NGO and we had a huge meeting with multilateral staff, and other key NGO stakeholders. I querried certain staff on the standard of cleanliness of the meeting room. At the time I advised on what needed to be done but staff still insisted that things were okay as they were. A few minutes later the Executive Director came in and pointed out the same things and they jumped to make sure they got things done in a hurry. It's a stark reminder that sometimes, employees need a nudge to prioritize their work.

But here's the thing: true ownership means taking initiative without waiting for directives from above. It's about caring enough to ensure things are done right, not just when someone's watching.

So, as you start your week, embrace ownership in your work. You have heard it said, "Be the change you want to see in the world". Be proactive, take charge, and strive for excellence, not because you're told to, but because it's the mark of a true professional.

So, this Monday, I challenge you to silence that inner critic. Acknowledge your achievements, embrace your strengths, and remember that you are exactly where you're meant to be. Own your story, because it's yours to tell. Step into this week with confidence and purpose—you've got what it takes!"

Sometimes life throws us some really rough times.

I wanted to give you a little encouragement today. One of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had is sitting on a bench across the Victoria Falls and soaking in its beauty. Listening to the soothing roar of the Mosi-o-Tunya!

As fulfilling as the experience of the Victoria Falls is, it does not beat the peace that our Heavenly Father, creator of the Victoria Falls and the Universe gives.

In times of turmoil, seek solace in the presence of the one who created such awe-inspiring marvels. As Psalms 46:10 reminds us, "Be still, and know that I am God." In Him, you will find peace in the midst of the chaos!

In light of recent events surrounding the case, it's imperative that we lend our voices to advocate for justice and support for survivors. Every allegation deserves a fair investigation, and we must give Solochi the benefit of the doubt and thoroughly examine her case.

Watching Hon Dora siliya interview with Charity, the mother of a survivor of defilement at the tender age of 7, serves as a stark reminder of the heartbreaking reality many children face. We have a collective responsibility to protect our children, ensuring we know who they are with and where they are at all times.

As someone who has personally endured the trauma of sexual violence, this issue hits close to home for me. That's why I founded the long awaited Healing Hope Foundation Zambia, dedicated to breaking the chains of trauma caused by domestic and sexual violence. Our mission is to shift perspectives through transformative messaging and empower survivors to become agents of change within their communities.
