Worried about a young person’s drug use?
You may be concerned that your young person is using alcohol or other drugs.

Unless you, or someone else you trust, witness your young person drinking or using drugs, it’s very difficult to know they are.
But if they are experiencing alcohol or other drug use issues, there can be some signs to look out for, these can include:

1changes in mood, behaviour, sleeping habits or hygiene
2being more secretive about their things or what they’re doing
3losing interest in activities they used to enjoy
4isolating themselves/changing their social habits
5getting in trouble at school or skipping school
6not meeting family or study responsibilities.

Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO says over 7000 people die annually from To***co related diseases.

Ms. MASEBO says sixty percent of the deaths are people below the age of seventy.

In a speech read on her behalf by Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary LACKSON KASONKA, Ms. MASEBO said to***co consumption is decreasing throughout the world although it is expected that the largest increase of smoking is going to occur in Africa.

The speech was delivered during the launch of To***co Control Data -TCDI- Zambia Dashboard.

Meanwhile World Health Organization Country Representative NATHAN BARKYAITA said Zambia is making commendable progress in domesticating the Framework Convention To***co Control -FCTC treaty to adequately address the to***co epidemic through developing and establishing comprehensive legal framework for effective national response.

This was in a speech read on his behalf by WHO Zambia National Professional Officer for To***co Control AGATHA SHULA.

The Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War

It has been six years since 14 March 2016 when HWPL announced the Declaration of Peace and
Cessation of War. Thanks to the dedication and efforts of the peace family, the DPCW was delivered
to places around the globe in need of peace and developed into multiple peace activities over those
six years. Now, the peace principles in the DPCW will further develop through institutionalization
and allow all members of society from every level and sector to become messengers of peace and
bring even greater participation in the work to realize peace. People will form the values of peace at
homes and schools, which they will pass on through generations. It is for religious leaders to
establish a peace alliance through understanding one another. It is for political leaders and leaders of
societies to come together in actualizing international law on peace and cessation of war and exert
efforts to ensure that their people can lead their lives in peace and with freedom. It is for young
adults, women, and civil society to continuously support and urge for the institutionalization of
peace. And it is for journalists to report on such efforts to realize peace and wake the world. When
every single one in the beautiful global village does not wait to become a peace messenger, peace
can certainly be achieved.

We held a District Youth Program on the 10th March 2022 , in kasama , where different Youth Groups were invited , including our Young Girls and Boys in School,

This Program was based on an inclusive approach mechanism , and our Differently Abled Brothers and Sisters from Chileshe Chepela school were in attendance to contribute their best ideas on how our communities could develop through various empowerment Programs , initiated by The New Dawn Government.

Together , we addressed many issues surrounding CDF, including challenges witnessed in the accessibility of empowerment programs among others.

Zambia National Speakers Association Members took time to remind our youths on their rights , opportunities and Freedoms , further, we asked our Youths to reflect on their Obligations , Responsibilities and Contributions towards National Development .

We applaud the efforts of Every member , the Ministry of Youth , Our District Commissioner , Zambia Army , Zambia Police , office of the Permanent Secretary , The Ministry of Youth , sports and Arts , Kasama Council and others for making this event a practical reality for Many.
