ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON AGRO LOANS

The agro loan from a minimum of K10 000 and a maximum of K50 000 worth of farming inputs with an interest rate of 12%.

A farmer is required to have at least 1 hectare of land either rented or self owned. Rented land will require a consent letter from the owner of the land and title deeds self owned land respectively. Upon harvest the farmer will be required to take 60 x 50kg in June 2024 to Food Reserve Agency. Of those 60 bags, 40 bags will cover for the loan while the remaining 20 bags, FRA will buy it in cash at FRA price per bag.

Everyone qualifies for this 12% interest agro loan facility including civil servants and those in the informal sector. It only bars those who are on FISP.
