Legendary Bulawayo artists and last Saturday celebrated their birthdays in the noblest of ways with the elderly residents from SODA Home - Old People's Home in Highfields.

STIGMATISING the elderly particularly those suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia, labelling them witches and wizards could be as a result of lack of knowledge of the diseases. Nonetheless, this should not be an excuse for name-calling which further worsens depression and other related disorders among the elderly.

CALL FOR BOARD MEMBERS — SOCIETY OF DESTITUTE AGED (SODA) OLD PEOPLE’S HOME
Society of Destitute Aged is an old people’s home located in Highfields, Harare. The Home was established in 1968 and currently houses sixteen residents four of whom are female. Full occupancy number is 35. Most of the residents are of Mozambican and Malawian origin who failed to get back to their countries after losing their jobs on farms and in mines ending up on the streets.
The Home embarks on horticultural and animal husbandry projects. The Home is sustained by projects and donations from well wishers.
It is against this background that we are inviting applications from suitable and passionate candidates to fill in as board members with those qualified to cover the following portfolios.
Suitable applicants should be willing to donate at least 10 hours per month to the home.
