Government of Zimbabwe is pleased to announce that Geo Associates and its partners Invictus Energy and One Gas Resources have successfully declared a gas discovery in Zimbabwe through the ongoing exploration activities in Muzarabani. This is a major discovery and represents one of the most significant developments in the onshore Oil and Gas Sector in the Southern Africa Region. The discovery is the first Triassic aged hydrocarbon in Sub Saharan Africa.

The Warriors technical team has named a provisional 27-member squad ahead of the Rwanda and Nigeria 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on 15 and 19 November respectively.

Zimbabweans lose thousands of USDs to online platform

AN online-based company called E-Creator which is being referred by many as a pyramid or ponzi scheme closed five days ago in Harare following delays in transfer of money to its 'employees'' Ecocash accounts.

Anyone who joined Ecreator was called an employee. The requirement for one to become a VIP 1 employee was US$15 and by the end of the month, this money would purportedly increase to US$50.

A VIP 2 employee required a minimum of US$100 and a maximum recharge of US$500. VIP 3 employees needed a minimum of US$500 and a maximum of US$2000.

To upgrade an account from one VIP to another, it was mandatory that one had to invite a certain number of people to join the ecompany. Many employees of the online company had worked hard to become VIP 2 employees.

On Friday the 30th of June 2023, withdrawing money from Ecreator's accounts to its employees Ecocash accounts faced challenges, after which many of the employees believed that they had lost their money to Ecreator.

Claris Bwanya, a VIP 1 employee of the ecompany said, "I will never involve myself in these scams again, I joined barely two weeks ago."

Another employee who prefered to be anonymous said, "Abraham must be tortured, for real. He will tell us where he put our monies. He shouldn't behave like this!!! We invested funds until we reached US$500 thinking we are now making US$20 dollars per day and now the platform closes just like that..."

Dylan Dzenga said, "...We don't care, what's important is that we were making a little bucks on top of our salaries these past months. Now we are joining Engie."

"Those who see in the spirit... why did you not tell us this would close? I would not have sold my car to invest in Ecreator...," mourned one B.T Dodzo.

Chiripamberi Abigail said, "...In God we trust. Our lives and the tricks we do to survive come from God. Let's mourn Baba Guti, May His Soul Rest In Peace "

Yesterday, Ecreator posted on their official page that Zhao Jiaotong, the founder of the company, was at the airport flying back to China after he withdrew money from all the employees' accounts.

Ecreator manager Mr Abraham Mutambu speaking to ZBC News on the 4th of July said, "The company is fixing Ecocash issues as there was disorder, some were receiving double payment after they had withdraw ln once, for instance, one could withdrew US$100 and he or she would receive US$200."

"So we are maintaining our financial system and those with delayed withdrawals, by Saturday noon they would have received their money with an interest of 4%," he added.

With financial technology advancing and spreading globally, cases of scams and fraud are likely to increase.

President Mnangagwa commissionedthe Prospect Lithium Mine Plant in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East Province.

Platinum Lithium Zimbabwe (PLZ) started construction of the plant on 20 April 2022, when its parent company, Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Company Limited, acquired the Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe asset and began the work of building the plant for processing the hard rock lithium mineral.
About 1 000 people were employed during the construction stage and hundreds more will get jobs when production goes full scale.

The parent company, Huayou, was founded in 2002 and over the past two decades, it has become a multinational corporation with a revenue base of more than US$48 billion and market value of over US$100 billion, ranking among the top 500 enterprises in China.

PLZ is not just focused on the business side of things, but also improving infrastructure and the living standards of the people of Mashonaland East through its corporate social responsibility programmes.

Already, the company has invested in education, health, water, security and road infrastructure projects thay are benefitting the surrounding communities.
