Every year the world celebrates Breastfeeding Week from August 1 to August 7 to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of mothers and babies around the world. World Health Organisation states, breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and survival. This year, the theme for breastfeeding week is “Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility”. The focus is on how breastfeeding contributes to the survival, health and wellbeing of all, and why it is imperative to protect breastfeeding worldwide.

World AIDS Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about the Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) disease. This day is observed on December 1. Due to immunodeficiency caused by HIV people are vulnerable to opportunistic infections such as tuberculosis and cryptococcal meningitis among others.

Perpetrators of abuse often make their victims believe that they are somehow responsible for their own abuse. Such misplaced notions shift the blame of the abuse from the abuser to the abusee.

How gratifying it was to come to Harare and see the hospital start, finally! We now have 13 full-time employees. Doctor for 24 hours and soon also midwife for 24 hours. We also have access to specialists when needed and also an ambulance. We have, among other things, had 3 girls' cuts that went well! I am very proud of my staff and everything ale do you are incredible, thanks ❤🇸🇪🇿🇼

Today we had a visit from the a special guest, Tomas Kjellsson from Sweden who is the owner of the hospital. It was a great honor to hear his vision for the health sector in the country. To the Zimbabwean community please do expect more relevant projects coming in trying to help in the health sector.
