We are deeply saddened to announce the tragic loss of our beloved colleague, Medic Chido Coleen Jimu. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, loved ones, and all those who knew her.
Chido was an essential part of our team and will be greatly missed. We fondly remember her for her outgoing nature, kindness, dedication, and contributions to St John Ambulance.
May she rest in peace.

Joyce Mugabushaka is from St John Ambulance South Australia (SA). Joyce has been a volunteer with St John Ambulance SA for almost 5 years.
“I am currently an Event Medic, and I am the skills coordinator for our local volunteer team. I was working in medical administration and studying to be a medical researcher. I love learning about diseases and how the body works. St John has allowed me to see how some of the things I learn are put into practise in an acute setting.
My role at St John has allowed me to meet new people and teach. I love learning. I love making learning fun for me. It's a privilege to be able to share what I know and learn so much from those around me.”

The surge in flu-like illnesses reported across Zimbabwe is a result of the common cold associated with the winter season rather than a new or exotic bug, investigations have determined, although people have been advised to take routine precautions and live a healthy lifestyle.
Last week, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said routine disease surveillance had shown an increase in flu-like illnesses since the beginning of the year but after investigating the Ministry is confident that the illness is just the common cold virus.
Secretary for Health and Child Care Dr Aspect Maunganidze, however, reassured the nation that the country had not reported any cases of Covid-19 or new viruses, although he also gave advice on how to minimise infection and treat infections.
