Today we honour and celebrate the brave heroes who fought and sacrificed for Zimbabwe's liberation. Their courageous actions, driven by a steadfast commitment to freedom and self-determination, paved the way for establishing an independent nation. We owe a debt of gratitude to these heroes whose legacies continue to inspire generations of Zimbabweans.

Congratulations to our rugby teams on their clean run of games over the weekend against Mai Mugabe Senior School! Showdown on the Pitch!
Our Girls' Soccer Team took on Chisipite in a series of thrilling fixtures.
We are proud of our girls for their valiant effort!
Here is a quick throwback to when our rugby team participated in the BMC Rugby Tournament earlier in the term. The team put on an impressive display of skill and determination. Although they faced stiff competition, the boys fought hard on the pitch, showcasing their talent and tenacity throughout the group stages.
Congratulations to Our U15 Soccer team on their impressive victory at the Westridge High School soccer tournament over the weekend
The team performed exceptionally, finishing in first position in the group stages. In the semi-finals, they defeated Heritage 4-2 on penalties.
In the finals, split into two groups, we faced off against St Ignatius College and emerged victorious with a 1-0 win.
The outstanding efforts of the team's goalkeepers have also been recognized, as they have been selected to represent the Zimbabwe ATS team in an upcoming tournament in Durban, South Africa.
This victory is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of the U15 Soccer team. Congratulations on your well-deserved success! Our school community is incredibly proud of your achievements.
The energy and spirit displayed by all those who took part in the recent Samuel Mutendi Sports Gala that we hosted was truly inspiring. Though the competition was fierce, the true victory was in the incredible display of sportsmanship and unity that permeated throughout the event.
Regardless of which school they represented, the young men and women who stepped onto the field and courts showed an unwavering commitment to excellence, both in their abilities and in their conduct. They played with passion, determination, and an unyielding respect for their opponents. When the final whistle blew, it was not the score that echoed through the school, but the sound of handshakes, embraces, and words of encouragement shared between the players.
The students who participated have not only represented their schools with pride, but have also set an example for us all - an example of what can be achieved when we approach competition with humility, empathy, and a genuine appreciation for one another.
To the athletes, coaches, and supporters who made this event so special, we offer our heartfelt congratulations. Your performance and sportsmanship have left an indelible mark, inspiring us all to strive for greatness while never losing sight of the true spirit of why we had gathered, to celebrate the life of Bishop Samuel Mutendi. You have demonstrated that victory is not merely measured by the scoreboard, but by the character and compassion we display in the pursuit of our dreams.
Over the weekend, we had Consultation Day and our parents came in to hear about the students' progress during the 2nd term. We are always thrilled to have them join us and have the opportunity to spend the day with the learners after consultation.
Last week we played St. John’s College’s soccer teams both home and away.
All the teams had an opportunity to showcase the skills and talents they have sharpened as the season has progressed and we are proud of the strides they have all made throughout the term.
Here are some highlights from those games.
This week, we visited Chinyaradzo childrens home through a campaign initiated by our Young Ladies Club. The ladies took it upon themselves earlier in the term to raise donations to assist the children at Chinyaradzo as part of their wider responsibility to serve the communities that surround our school. We have a moral obligation to look beyond our own walls and consider the needs of the children from various circumstances in our local area and the broader community.
By organising this donation drive, the Young Ladies Club demonstrated an admirable commitment to using its platform and resources to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children. This is the type of initiative that we all should be encouraging - empowering students to identify areas of need and take concrete action to address them.
Chinyaradzo provides critical supports, but may face resource constraints. Partnering with them, providing not just material aid, but also volunteer time, mentorship, and advocacy to ensure the children have access to the opportunities and support they deserve.

We welcome our students and staff back from their seven-day educational tour to Dubai.
This trip was an incredible opportunity for personal growth and global education. It allowed the students to immerse themselves in the vibrant, multicultural city, expanding their horizons and cultural awareness in ways that cannot be replicated in the classroom.
During their stay, they discovered stunning architecture, explored bustling markets, and learned about the region's rich history and traditions. Beyond the attractions, this trip abroad helps foster independence, adaptability, and problem-solving skills essential for future success.
We are thankful for journey mercies and the incredible experiences and memories they had during the trip.
We are excited to embark on a 7-day educational tour to Dubai. This tour includes 66 students accompanied by 5 teachers. The trip aims to provide students with an immersive educational experience focusing on urban planning, hospitality management, and sustainable tourism.

Zim high school students in Dubai for exchange programme
Story by Fungai Jachi
Ties between Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are filtering through to the education sector with Samuel Centenary Academy High School students going for exchange programmes in the Arab nation.
66 students from Samuel Centenary Academy owned by the Zion Christian Church have left the country for Dubai on a seven-day educational tour focusing on urban planning, hospitality management and sustainable tourism.
“We have realised that the students need to be exposed to what is happening in real life. The students must see for themselves and have an appreciation of how industry is run as well as seeing natural wonders. We are hopeful that what they will learn will have a positive impact on their studies which in turn will help in the wider scope of developing our country,” said the principal of Samuel Centenary Academy, Mr Dignity Mandizvidza.
The students are excited at the prospect of broadening their horizons.
“I am excited about the opportunity presented to us. If we see for ourselves, we will be able to understand better and make meaningful contributions in the future,” said a student.
Another said, “It is a great opportunity for us to put a face to what we read in books. We are sure we will be able to copy what is being done in other countries in terms of technology. We hope to learn a lot from this trip.”
The country is collaborating with various nations in the education sector with China and Zimbabwe having signed a memorandum of understanding, which will see collaborations in higher and tertiary education.
Last week, we hosted a Sociology Seminar for exam candidates from various schools.
The purpose of the seminar was to prepare the students for their upcoming exams this year, providing them with information on what to expect and how best to tackle the exams.
