Major Congratulations 🥳 🎉🎊👏🏽to our SLA alumni Rutendo Mutisi who has been accepted into The Young Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) program.
Rutendo, is driven student who has her sights set on becoming a powerful voice for the continent. Her dream? To be a motivational speaker who inspires others with a message informed by diverse African experiences.
The Young-Yale African Scholars (YYAS) program is an excellent opportunity for African secondary school students who are planning to pursue higher education and wish to become young leaders on the continent.
This prestigious eight-day program offers exactly what Rutendo needs:
Sharpened Academic Skills: YYAS will equip Rutendo with the tools to excel academically, preparing her for the rigors of a US university application.
Expert Guidance: The program provides valuable insights into university admissions and financial aid, making the process less daunting.
African Network: Rutendo will connect with other young leaders from across Africa, broadening her perspective and fostering a spirit of collaboration.
Mentorship Advantage: Beyond the program, YYAS pairs participants with mentors who offer ongoing support throughout the university application process. This personalized guidance is invaluable for navigating the complexities of applying to US universities.
Rutendo is particularly excited to connect with fellow young Africans. She believes these interactions will enrich her understanding of the continent’s rich tapestry, allowing her to craft even more impactful messages as a future speaker.
