We’re joining together across the world to raise awareness for childhood cancer!

Pictured are members of the Africa University Peer Educators Club in Zimbabwe outside of the Kwang Lim Chapel on the university’s campus. The group focuses on improving community healthcare for childhood, breast, and prostate cancer, HIV/AIDS, and health and wellness programs on campus and in the larger community. The patron of the club (in purple) is the Bishop Alfred L. Norris Health Center Sister in Charge, Mrs. TsiTsi Murapa. Standing next to Mrs. Murapa is Mrs. Lisa Tichenor, board member of Africa University and trustee of the Osteosarcoma Institute, a virtual institute in Dallas, Texas, concentrating on a cure for osteosarcoma.

Together, our organizations Go Gold to represent childhood cancer warriors and heroes. More research is urgently needed to help improve patient outcomes and survival rates for children, adolescents, and young adults with osteosarcoma and other pediatric cancers. Today, we wrap up a fantastic exhibition at the annual Zimbabwe Agricultural Show. From showcasing cutting-edge research to connecting with thought leaders, our booth was a hub of innovation and engagement.

A huge thank you to our talented students, alumni, dedicated faculty and everyone who stopped by to learn more about our work. Together, we made this exhibition a success!

True to his tradition, our alumnus, Joseph Faustinos Zishiri came through to the stand. It is his routine to visit the stand every year to take time to interact with staff. This time around, he had his blood group, sugar and Hemoglobin levels tested.

Despite the chilly weather, our amazing first-year students brought the heat on August 23rd! After the traditional Matriculation Ceremony, they joined the Vice Chancellor, Executive Cabinet, College Deans, Heads of Department, and staff for an epic interactive event.

Highlights? How about a friendly (but fierce) tug of war where our students totally dominated the staff! The energy was electric as everyone came together for a sizzling braai, lively games, and dancing that kept the vibe high.

From icebreakers to epic moves on the dance floor, this was one for the books—a colorful, unforgettable social event that set the tone for an incredible year ahead!

We are counting down to the Transformative Global Leadership Conference in Nashville Tennessee at the Scarritt Bennett Center from the 5th to the 7th of September 2024 with a virtual attendance option. Africa University's Vice Chancellor Reverend Professor Peter Mageto is one of a number of high impact panelists. This is an event not to be missed!

Africa University has received a Certificate of Membership as one of the founding partners of the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM). The curtain comes down on an eventful and successful 2nd Triennial Conference in Windhoek, Namibia. One of the major highlights was the launch of TAGDev 2.0, a 10-year program in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, targeting to impact 1.2 million young Africans, through scholarships offered through the partner universities.

It was a full house this morning in the Kwang Lim Chapel where the community welcomed and prayed over the incoming 2024 first year cohort and semester. Under the theme ,"Pursuing God' , the sermon encouraged the first years to keep God at the center of their time and studies at the institution, inspiring, uplifting and encouraging each other in their respective journeys'.
