Meet Mr Noel Veldman β A Zimbabwean Icon.β€οΈπΏπΌ
In the short space of time that Noel has lived and worked in the eastern Highlands at Froggy Farm, he has touched the lives (and Jam Jars) of thousands of people.
His kind, trusting and sometimes abrupt and honest nature, has become a trademark of his Store at Froggy Farm, and you would be hard-pressed to find someone who seeβs life, its triumphs and disasters, in such an optimistic and enthusiast light.
At 76 years old, he lives alone in a single room at the top of the Susurumba valley on the Burrell/Sheehan property. He wakes up at 3am every day, makes himself a porridge breakfast, and walks the 4kmβs to Froggy Farm along a dirt road in his gumboots and head torch, and arrives at work before anyone else, with a huge smile on his face and gratitude for the beauty of his life. Every day of the year β except on his birthday. Christmas day!
He joined the Froggy Farm team in 2015, and has been a loyal and invaluable asset since then.
As a small gesture of the vast amount of respect and gratitude we have for the role he has played at Froggy Farm, and the impact that his bubbly and enthusiast personality has had on so many people, we will be allocating $0.15c of every Froggy Farm Jar sold towards a retirement fund at the Resthaven home in Rusape.
From seed to spice, the journey of growing chillies is one hot adventure! Get ready to turn up the heat as we pluck these fiery gems straight from our garden and transform them into a homemade chilli masterpiece.
