Young People Making a Difference Network empowers young people to work tirelessly to bring sustainable development to their communities and the society at large. The network responds to the need for young people to have a leading and contributory role towards the attainment of the Sustainable development goals. YPMD supports both males and females who want to learn and take action on the world’s
biggest challenges and use their power to bring about positive change. The young people use their networks to mobilise other youths and strategic members of the society at large to get involved. What is central to the Young People Making a Difference is the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals. Hence its main objective is to bring awareness on the goals and mobilise the youths to take strategic actions which bring tangible results. Sustainable Development Goals are an Agenda agreed by World Leaders on the 25th of September 2015 as the guiding framework to combat challenges being faced by people on this planet. Although in other parts of the world, not all of the challenges are prominent, in Southern Africa, unfortunately, the situation is poignant. Our countries are facing heightened levels of poverty, hunger, disease, gender inequality, climate change effects and access to water and sanitation among other challenges. This makes the need for a robust and immediate action towards alleviating the suffering. VISION:
