Should be a cracker of a match!
Tomorrow sees the Copa Libertadores, (South America's equivalent to the Champions League) Final being contested.
The Final will be played out between Flamengo of Rio, Brasil and River Plate of Argentina.
During 2012 and 2013 I took a unique opportunity to work and research at home of Flamengo - Ninho de Urubu AKA ‘The Buzzard’s Nest’ which is located to the very west of Rio De Janeiro.
I will be forever thankful to Marco Biasotto, (Academy Manager) who opened the doors and gave me unrestricted and daily access over a two week period to the home of the most supported football club in Brasil.
During my time I was able to witness and record training sessions across all age ranges in the Academy including the First Team. To spend time observing upcoming coaches like Ze Ricardo was and still is an inspiration to me.
The Buzzard’s Nest had extremely dark times earlier this year. The training ground fire which took the lives of 10 teenage boys was truly horrifying and undoubtedly the Club’s biggest tragedy in it’s 123-year history.
I hope the First Team can win tomorrow and take the trophy back to Brazil for the 40 million fans and in memory of those who lost their lives simply pursuing their dreams of becoming professional footballers.
The game is on BBC2 at 8pm

Join us in recognizing and celebrating World Mental Health Day. Soccer is not usually associated with mental health but here at BSS, we want to be part of the movement to change this.
Exercise is a proven aid in helping to overcome mental disorders. We also believe by building a community for our young players, creating close friendships and important support networks helps to prevent the onset of one of the biggest issues facing society now.
